OK - but - the point here is the double standard. All fine when we do it - or Brother El Saud - but were heir Putin to do such things .. we would be threatening sanctions - up and down.

Putin seems to have gone after some that have sought to speak out against or embarass him .. or at least that is what he is accused of .. mind you it is a bit of a mafia state over the years ..

In the land of El Saud - it is public policy - the State apparatus to quell any dissent - it is a full on totalitarian Nightmare .. Orwell style - with theocratic overtones and strict sharia Law.

Yet - ahh no worries .. and in this case things are easy because the woman is being released in a few months - if you can call being released into Saudi Society - not able to leave the country for at least 5 years .. and 3 years on parole .. being released from prison.

who are we to Judge - when we have kept Assange as a political prisoner for some 10 years now .. currently being held without trial in Britain in this game of Hot Potato .. because he embarrassed the US.

    I agree very much, Giftedone.

I remember when Colbert had the gals of PR on his show. Whatever their crime was, at least Putin effectively pardoned them after about 2 years. I think Obama let Manning sit in prison for 7 years for comparison, and then our system sent her back for refusing to testify, about another year.

What makes you so sure the position of the Palestinians are not the centre of the world. In KSA you can get as much as death for asking for Human Rights. So Far this is not the case in the West but as I said if people work for the Rights of the Palestinians in the US, they are likely to find themselves abused in an attempt to blacken their name so that they cannot get a job and achieve what their abilities offer. This is deliberate because Israel realised that the people currently doing their degrees in University will be the leaders of the future and she was determined that they would not care about Palestinian Rights. So although this concerns Israel, it is happening in the US. A similar thing is now being attempted in the UK. This is an assault on our democracy which I strongly oppose. The Saudi activist shares with those of the US the lack of the freedom to go by their conscience without consequences. The Saud's have always been like this. In the West it is a growing problem.

    Quit the constant abuse.

Here is the post where I explained to you why it most certainly is an appropriate thing to bring into this discussion.
Deal with the issues not your boring never ending personal abuse.

Saudi still has a ways to go. But then in Iran she would have been hung.

Your opinion is that anything which is not your opinion is not acceptable. Hence you usually accuse posters with a different point of view to yours to lying. Instead of the constant abuse, if you believe something is against the forum rules, why not tell the Moderators that what people are writing is a wall of lies, that people are fed up with them, that the forum has had enough of them and so on and let the Moderators decide. The forum is supposed to be about arguing things not just abusing those you disagree with.

Trust me dear Alexa that the respected Moderators punish me once in a while.
I am glad you remember my opinions regarding the Palestinian wall of lies.
