School cancels football game days after cheerleaders are punished for pro-Trump banner

Trump support is not patriotism. It's cult worship. Kneeling during the anthem is not disrespectful to flag and country, it's just the opposite. Questioning authority is our duty as Americans. It's what keeps us strong, informed, and impervious to a charismatic cult leader.

While I agree with your assessment of patriotism, I take exception to your assumption that cheeleaders aren't smart. My own high school class valedictorian was a cheerleader. Participating in extracurricular activities is smart for those applying to colleges.

 

Aren't these the same schools that just sanctioned missing classes to protest global warming? Haven't they tolerated anti gun demonstrations?

It won’t stop individuals for speaking out for Trump but it certainly will rile up a crowd. There is a place for a Politics and it is not in school unless it is a class in politics

I read this story on another site a earlier this week. Here the thing, this was done before the game started. Because of that, it isn't "considered" a school sponsored event. Now here something else. courts have rulled several times that students/public can do things like this w/o repercussion from anyone. The reason being that isn't during a school event, and they're protected under the 1st amendment.

If these cheerleaders didn't before the game started...... they may have a case a civil rights violation.

The school district is forfeiting the game because they say they're concerned about student safety. Do you think the district is lying and there's another reason they're forfeiting? What should the district do if they think student safety may be at risk?

According to sources other than Fox News, the school has rules about political demonstrations during school events. If true, then no one's free speech has been impinged.

The problem with antifa groups is that they are multiple and don't call themselves by that name or any other ... not organized. And I read elsewhere that these groups don't usually announce their intention to attend events.

 

Yes it was..against politicians who don’t care about he environment. This was a march against indifference to the environment and how it affects young people. The fact that you can’t see the difference speaks volumes
