The same was not true when I was in high school ... class of 1969. Back then, not much was expected of girls, and few (including myself) were encouraged to attend college. In spite of that, we had some pretty smart cheerleaders, one a class valedictorian.

 

How do you know that? Don't the Proud Boys pride themselves on escalating any anti-Trump political events? Because had the school not cancelled the game, that's exactly what it would have become.

 

It was school officials that made this a big deal in the first place. Their chastising these girls for expressing their support of our duly elected president created the controversy

Yea I suspect you were one of the guys who didn't get to date the cheerleaders (your post above displays a deep resentment for them). I did get to date cheerleader and they were the cream of the crop, simply the best. Dating a cheerleader was and will always be a status symbol for young men. OTOH, dating intelligent ugly radical feminists is not an objective of 90% of men even though many leftists wish it was.

Every time the far leftists go full authoritarian like this I get a little more hopeful. Joe, you should watch more non-political gaming youtube channels. These are young people with tens of millions of young viewers. They are not particularly political BUT the one universal coming from all of them is hatred and contempt of the authoritarian tactics and propaganda of the left. Your oppression of young people is causing them to rebel.... they are becoming the counter culture to your authoritarianism. Once again these are not political animals, these are just kids and young adults trying to enjoy their hobbies... and your side is attacking and destroying their hobbies (the things they love most). It cannot work out for you in the long run. Your tactics are creating enemies out of people who might have become your allies.

 

Were the girls chastized? Please provide a link proving that they faced any consequences for breaking school rules other than the cancelling of the game. Were they suspended? Or scolded? Link, please.

 

And there was the help they received from Russia, knowingly or not. Plus the fact that in spite of that help, Clinton stll got 2.8 million more votes than Trump, and the only reason he "won" was due to our ridiculous clinging to that outdated and archaic electoral college. If we elected the president of all the people via one person, one vote, he would have lost.

 

Meh... those are the rules, as outdated as they might be... He's the duly elected President of the US... I've never indicated otherwise... The fact that he lied about disclosing his taxes is on the people that voted for him with that obvious lie... And the fact that he directed and hid illegal campaign finance activity before the election cannot change the result of the election either. He should be punished like his lawyer after the fact, but that's the way it is.

But he's committed so many impeachable and probably illegal acts during his tenure, nobody can keep count...

The current word is that some growing pct of the public is as angry at the Dems for not impeaching as they are at Trump for essentially begging for impeachment. I'm straddling that line, but I'm leaning that way as well..

I have a much better way to elect presidents that would still use the electoral college concept combined with the popular vote, but it's mine alone... Sad! Trump didn't win my way in 2016 (Neither would have Bush in 2000) and Trump will get crushed my way in 2020....
