I'm sure those people will be happy Russians one day, specifically when they're living in Russia rather than occupied Ukraine. :)

If a sovereign nation freely chooses to join or not join NATO that's not for Russia to decide. Russia needs to stay in its lane.

I explained to you why they find the west and democracy threatening. Because Russia is an authoritarian regime and it's terrified that it's people, like everywhere else on the planet - will prefer democracy.

There was an agreement. NATO violated this treaty. Putin has repeatedly warned the West. And today it is a consequence of the violation of the contract.

That you have to lie proves you know you are wrong. No such agreement ever existed and only the known liar Putler, who wasn't even there, claims other wise. How self serving of the known liar. In any event, independent countries get to make their own decisions about if they wish to join an economic trading group or a defensive alliance or not. Putler gets no say in the matter.
    None at all.

That verbal agreement was with Gorbachev and the Soviet Union. Not Russia. And not Putin.

After the fall of the Soviet Union...I would say all hand shake verbal agreements with that government are null and void.

Especially when it's suggesting to control other sovereign governments and nations direction and path forward. For example and most recently...if out of reaction to recent Russian aggression, both Finland and Sweden wish to join NATO...that is their call.

But hey! Apparently I'm not aware of the world around me lol

    1. About the obligations of not expanding NATO, study the issue before writing.
    2. As you can see for yourself - the Russians have the right to allow or forbid countries to join NATO.

No, one president saying he will not push for expansion is not a legal obligation that future governments in those countries or even in NATO countries might have different opinions. In short, you are lying and claiming there was a Treaty obligation anyone to do anyrhing when it clearly does not.

Only treaties matter and no such Treaty exists. So, yes, you are lying. Hell, several Bush era officials outright have said no such verbal agreement ever was discussed so this is pretty clearly just another propaganda lie out of the current Russian doctatorship.

Russia does not want war with the USA and we should not encourage it. No one wins this war.

Then Russia should get her ass out of Ukraine and refocus on her own people and industry and joing the other civilized nations of the world.

They won't. Russia is in demographic collapse and Putin knows it. Thus he thinks expanding, conquering new areas and populations, as well reaching defendable borders is the only way Russia will survive as a state. He is probably right too. It is shame Putin was to corrupt and incompetent to do anything other than drive his country into a death spiral.

If only he had known that being friendly and cooperative is the real way to ensure national survival. You don't see any western country's leaders imagining that they need to invade a neighbor and expand just for the country they lead to survive. Instead, they're almost all in NATO and feeling quite confident about their national security.

    1) Show us the contract we signed stating such.
    2) And as you can see for yourself, countries have the right to tell Russia to **** off.

All these nations don't want to be by themselves with a Nazi, Terrorist, expanionist and Authoritarian Dictatorship on their border without being able to protect their free country and people from such things.

You're right.. No country wants to live under the pressure of a fascist dictatorship. And that is why even Saudi Arabia refuses to talk to the dictator Biden and pursues a policy of rapprochement with the free country of Russia. The countries of Latin America and Africa are also in favor of strengthening ties with Russia - they do not want to live under the yoke of the dictatorship of the fascist EU and the USA.
    People choose freedom and justice.

If you did not protest against the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya .... etc., if you did not protest against the bombing of Yugoslavia ... then protest in Ukraine ...... This is somehow not comme il faut.

I don't protest against anything. I simply adapt to whatever happens. I comment on things just like you do.
