Yea I know you wish I would just keep turning the other cheek.

How about just chill on the racism and I can take care of the issues myself. Now there is a thought.

LOL, please. If MLK were alive today he'd still be fighting the same racist conservatives he was fighting back then. And he certainly would be appalled at the massive brain farts a bunch of right wing losers had when some half black guy was elected.

Where are you turning the other cheek? Give me specific instances. I'll be your mentor, your therapist, I'll guide you to seek the one answer to all your trivial problems lol

Here's what King had to say about the Republican party back in the day: "The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction, and extremism. All people of goodwill viewed with alarm and concern the frenzied wedding at the Cow Palace of the KKK with the radical right. The "best man" at this ceremony was a senator whose voting record, philosophy, and program were anathema to all the hard-won achievements of the past decade."

Seems to me that King flat out acknowledged that conservatism is the problem, and that the GOP was pandering to these racist idiots for votes.

A significant portion of the conservative posters here post like David Duke, but you rarely, if ever, point that out.

Do I detect some bias Mr. "free thinking independent"?

If we truly want to get the point of the famous speech of Martin Luther King....where he said he longed for the day when people were judged "by the content of the character and not the color of their skin," then BOTH blacks and whites need to give up their racist talk. And IF one is truly doing what he longed for.......there will be times when a white person doesn't like a black person because they don't like their character. And same in reverse......

As a present-day white person, I had nothing to do with slavery or the laws that used to exist that were clearly anti-blacks. And I don't care to be blamed for it the rest of my life.....or for generations to come. Again......realize that we are now free to like or dislike whomever we want; not as a group based on race, but by the individual's content of character or lack thereof. I think when all the race baiters like Sharpton and Jackson die off......we can finally get around to fulfilling MLK's dream.

Mostly today......the black/white issue is more about politics; not race. Just look at what's currently happened to Condoleeza Rice. She has cancelled her plans to speak at Rutgers due to protests. Now.....IF she were a black liberal instead of a black conservative, other blacks would be out there speaking up for her. But it's pretty much crickets.....why? Because she's a conservative...and since 90+ percent of blacks are Democrats they will NOT speak up for her. So....don't let them tell you it's about race; because it's not.

BTW, shame on Rutgers' students who did this.....I don't know how much of the student population the protesters represented......but apparently they are anti-free speech. I hope that doesn't represent the entire college. What is it about liberals......that if one's ideas and beliefs don't match up with theirs 100%, they are unable to even listen to opposing ideas? Not what colleges used to be about; that's for sure.

It will never die off as long as we have a political party that keeps us divided by convincing blacks they are the constant victim

Sorry, but you can just look at this forum and see that black folks have never been looked upon as individuals.

What black person has Condi ever spoken up for? This is the same woman who told us that Civil Rights for black folks would have happened without the Civil Rights Movement.

There have been protests against speakers on college campuses since the colleges were founded. Why is Condi so special?

This forum isnt life. Also if you truly wanted Blacks to be treated equally you wouldnt be calling Blacks that dont agree with you "Uncle Toms". What it seems you want is everyone to think like you.

...and yet these are the same hypocrites who scream racism when some say that all blacks think alike.

Kind of like the conservatives who call any white person who voted for Obama or who rejects conservatism a "self loathing white", eh?

Here's how the narrative works. Everything a non-liberal says is always racist no matter what. And nothing a liberal says is ever racist no matter what. All you have to do to get away with being a complete and total bastard is wear the label "liberal." It seems like such an obvious choice, doesn't it? Just wear this silly little badge and you'll have a life-long get-out-of-jail-free card. No one will ever attack you for anything you say, and you'll never be expected to be consistent about anything. Unfortunately, many of us are plagued with this cumbersome little thing called integrity. Which forces us to be honest. And we can't lie about who we are in order to seek protection for speaking the truth.

By your own words you admit it had nothing to do with her race but her politics. "if she were a black liberal instead of a black conservative". So what is your point? That it is wrong to protest against conservatives because of their politics? Really? Are you really going to try and say that? You do know the reverse would be true then............Imagine the screaming about white folks protesting against a liberal white person blah blah blah.

Why the sarcasm? Tolerance is supposed to be your forte. Not ours. Remember? And if you actually practiced it as much as you preach it, you wouldn't be belittling him for what he said. Instead, you'd be tolerating his position as a simple difference of opinion and you'd agree to disagree with him like a gentleman.

Your post here is a great example of what I just talked about in my last post. Using the label of "liberalism" to get away with never having to practice what you preach while still trying to claim the moral high ground.

You can't be both cynical and tolerant. One negates the other.

Heh, I'm just fighting fire with fire.

Most of the insults here are usually coming from conservatives aimed at Liberals. If they don't want to be insulted, then don't hurl petty insults at others.

I wasn't aware that he (previous poster) had called anyone an 'Uncle Tom' Or perhaps you are referring to you (plural aka 'those people') in the collective. But wait, that can't be it because we just had about a gazillion posts from patriots lecturing everyone how they see people as individuals and not as part of a group. Seriously - they've been posting that stuff. Go back and look. really.
