The Republican conservatives of today went to war to oust Saddam from kuwait and again to oust Saddam from Iraq and again to oust alquiada from Afghanistan so I'm not sure where you get your opinions on that.
As far as destroying a country and walking away that is exactly what we need to do in these new wars in this new era. Destroy the government and it's military and let others see what will happen to them if they **** with us.

Can anyone describe the progressive and promising frontier of foreign relations, with Iran, which the USA is about to jeopardize?

Your argument is not convincing here. So, I'm siding with Tom 'T-stone' Cotton on this one.

Yes and no. I admitted they had a case in law but the US had a legitimate cause of war, recognized as such by world councils. We had been attacked, any nation that even SEEMED to aid in that attack became suspect and suspect is good enough when an enemy might be arming against you. The Taliban had been a fairly hostile actor to the US before 9/11 and there was no real reason to trust that they weren't involved in 9/11 even if they denied it, nor to believe that they were incapable of helping bin Laden escape. They should have turned him over right away and then made their case to protect him from unjust treatment before the UN.

The US has always had the policy you outline to a greater or lesser extent, but a good case for its overall mollification before 9/11 can be made. Not so afterwards

If we go with a policy of sending Iran pallets of cash and bending over and dropping our trousers for them(Obama diplomacy), then just maybe Iran's parliament won't chant "Death to America!" quite so loud next time they meet.

    Wouldn't that be progress?

Then you had an impudent and irrelavant goal in Iraq ... because if you think to remove a regime by military and war, then YOU ARE ALSO responsible for the time after in the country. This is logical issue is obviously not known and clear to many Americans!
You started the war out of own interest and so you are also respsonsibel for the faith of the country after victory!

But I know ... American like to deny this uncomfortable fact and come with rediculous arguments against. I had this discussion very often ....

So as Trump iherit the long time measures in economy from Obama ... and Trump sells it now as his success?
Come one ... Bush failed a dozen times to catch Bin Laden and had until 2008 no clue where he was ... it was a pure chance that they found him.

And yes ... the USSR conquered Eastern Europe and it was agreed by the 3 big allies that this is USSR sphere as Wester Europe is British and American sphere.
Did Stalin support the communist rebels in Greece in their fight against the US backed monachy? No ... and why not? Because he respected that Greece is not his sphere!
And with look on the huge numbers of dictators and regimes the US backed, installed and helped against opposition to = to depress the population for democratic rights, is alsone in Central and South America very long!

Your opinion is just that, your opinion. Saddam was a threat to the entire region and we gave him every chance to comply with terms of the treaty he signed after his invasion of kuwait. Instead he tried to shoot down US planes enforcing the no fly zone which all by itself was grounds for war.

The Iraqis have set the peace standards since 2011, Raffishragabash, not America.

If Iraq says to America to skedaddle, that is what America will do

Communists don't deserve a sphere of influence. Biggest mistake in human history was not killing all the bolsheviks. Their stupidity ineptitude and greed caused more suffering than anything else in recent human history.

Actually the fascists of Germany in their brief dozen years of power through their stupidity, and greed, and cowardice caused incredible suffering, rivalling that of the USSR and Mao's China.

Not even close. USSR collectivization of farm land killed 7-14 million by starvation.

Estimates for flat out murders from the Stalin regime range from 3 to 20 million. That's just Stalin!
Add to that 1.7 million deaths in gulags
    800,000 formal executions .
And the list goes on and on.

China the killing started with 46,000 intellectuals. Yeah leftists hate smart people.

Then in again with the collectivized farming.
30- 40 million starved to death.
20 million killed in work camps

Hitler? Yeah he was an amateur.

Yeah ... one of the communist haters on work here!
But does the US deserve any sphere of influence at least ... due to their incredibly crimes and slaughtering in their cold war and later history? Very questionable!

    But I know ...

    §-1
The US did, does and never will do any evil thing, simply because it is the USA

    §-2
    The US is always right

    §-3
If the US is not right by exception ... then is automatically §-2 valid

    §-4
Onyl the US has the right to decide in the world what is evil and what is good, but no one else

    §-5
The World has to submit in general to the will of the US

Sorry dude ... Sadly, I have to disappoint you: the days when anyone on this planet takes this US way of thinking seriously have been over since 2003. And since Trump, only those who are depending on the US to survive are interested ... so such great and excellent examples of democracy and the rule of law, such as Israel, Saudi Arabia or Egypt ... and perhaps half a dozen uninteresting other countries. The rest on this planet just laughs at you, because you have completely lost every bit of credibility and respect within 2 years!

Aside fact that I am German and laugh about American overconfidence and arrogance towards facts and realities.
Yes ... if the US is launching a full-scale attack against Saddam in 2003, then Iran alone will have no chance!
But is he alone? Not really! And what happend in Irag after Saddam was beaten, will be only a joke in comparison what then happens there!
Who has the US as an ally this time? The list has melted down compared to 2003 to 2 countries ... Ask yourself why!
And if you call Al Qaeda and the IS a major terrorist threat ... which they are quite and without question ... after an attack by you you experience the terrorist hell on earth where 9/11 in comparison, just a small riot was!
You have no idea in your arrogance, what a terrorist potential you arouse with such an unfounded and as 2003 based on lies attack again!

Of course part of the logic of that war was that we were going to re-make the middle east; we expected to help birth a flourishing exemplar country; This excise was a proof of concept for utopian ideas about democracy and the inevitable vibrance of a free market economy; we were convinced that many other ME counties would eagerly emulate this national formula after they saw what they were missing. Iraqis were going to celebrate our arrivals as liberators from contemptibly evil Saddam Hussein.

If we were to demonstrate the utopian nature of the american dream transplanted to Iraqi... we had to make this work.... not just bomb them to the stone age and leave

Further, there was the Afghanistan al queda problem. When we helped kick the Russians out of Afghanistan.... we abruptly left, and the taliban settled in. So we learned our lesson.... we could not abandon iraq after victory for fear of al queda colonizing the place...

By th way, we tried that fast war approach again in lybia.... because it seemed like such a good idea....it did not work well there either

Do we think Iran is alone? Not really

    Do we care??? Not really.

You see pal we both know it's true that neither China nor Russia reeeeeally wants to swing their, nonsense, toward the intrepid United States of America. Therefore your BRICs nations need to go sit down, somewhere, before they get exaaaactly what they have been aching for since 2007.

    Not really.

What happened in Iraq could've been prevented from the very first, day, that Obama removed troops from there/when it then went to hell in a handbasket.

When the USA ended Bush43's deceitful 2003 invasion of Iraq, Obama said he would leave USA soldiers in Iraq to stabilize the region/help protect their democracy ---if those USA soldiers remain exempt from war crime charges. Iraq GOVT refused to make Obama that promise. Obama said, no troops then.

We see what that has resulted into.

No. But I'll ask you what caused you to, daydream, that the same NATO minions won't be lined up to support the USA??...especially if, I repeat, especially if the USA flies the Israeli flag in the backdrop of their upcoming attacks.

    Already, world history.

    ...

I think we both can agree that the USA has shown many, many times, that the military enjoys the task of seeking out those forces then annihilating them.

Well ... let Russia sell them their S-400 missiles and your Air Force will have fun!

You know that the US is her enearly alone?

Please what? USA soldiers shall be exempt from War crimes? How impudetn is this please? Sorry ... everyone else should then piss on Geneva convention and torture any captured US soldeirs to death like this sum if IS does with their prisoners as answer? It will make this reaction valid if you give US soldiers a wild card to do crimes!

Ameircan arrogance on its best again?

And soory, you lost the war in Iraq totally at least, and this from summer of 2003 onwards ... due to ttotal incompetnece of the Bush Jr. governemnt. And that obama pulled out the troops was the will of a clear 2/3 majority of US population ... a fact that people like you like to ignore. And why were 2/3 of US people over with this war again? Because their boys and girls died in a war which was more and more unmasked to be a criminal war started on base of lies and criminal behavior, fought against any internaitonal law and where US troops did hundreds of war crimes... in short a war which became a "Vietnam 2.0" ...

Oh ... your NATO allies are now minions? What a respectful behavior of allies who stand all the time on your side and who followed your request of Article 5 after 9/11 into Afghanistan till today!

And with such cheeky and disrespectful remark as you do, you Americans still wonder that the Europeans are showing the middle finger because you have lost every spark of respect and credibility with your behavior?

Then tell me, who of those who were so stupid in 2003 and followed you to Iraq, will do it this time if you ask for it ... which, by the way, is not a NATO matter at all then?
Great Britain? No ... certainly not this time and a clear "no".
France? The French already told you "**** you" in 2003
Germany? Hell is more likely to freeze than a German soldier goes to war for such a criminal background at your side!
Italy? They laugh at you ....
Poland? According to government possible, but then starts the very short countdown for the end of this government in Poland ... and she knows, therefore rather no!
Baltics? Maybe, but not sure and if, then they will give you great support with 100 soldiers and some Humvees, because more they don't have!

The rest? Absolutely a clear no!

Only Israel and Saudi Arabia remain as allies this time ... all others say no. At most, such valuable associations of the past as Afghanistan, Angola, the Dominican Republic, Palau, Micronesia, etc., may follow and send 32 soldiers or something!

I have no control over you posting your, hallucinations, when it comes to which nations will not back the USA when Iran gets attacked soon.

Everyone knows the BRICs nations plan, since 2007, but hey you feel free to continue playing pretend about it.
