Bottom line: China and North Korea have won! This is just a first step, but it is obvious that we and our allies will be rewarding North Korea (and thus, China) for their ability to bluff down the once-mighty United States of America....

First, Trump backs down on NK's hydrogen bombs and missiles, saying we'll do "sanctions" instead... a "cash register war" conducted in reality by international central bankers who make piss-poor generals.

And now we already see this announced resumption of what are really nothing but bribes, appeasement, and other "aid" to North Korea: https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...c70b6f98089_story.html?utm_term=.4efafbece404

This is, of course, exactly what we've done regarding North Korea for the past 23 years, and we can all see just how well it has worked.

In four more years, there will be no more "South" Korea, Japan will become a 'vassal-state' owned by China, a 'unified' Korea under Kim Jong-un, and Russia. The U. S. will have no further ability to project credible power anywhere in Eastern Asia or that portion of the Pacific Ocean. And once we've turned around and walked away, the only thing left to do is RUN.... But, where...?

South Korea has ALWAYS been a bunch of *******. Either we deal with North Korea or we pull out of South Korea altogether and let them deal with North Korea on their own. They are trying to play both sides by appeasing North Korea because they figure if **** does hit the fan then the US will bail them out. Bad behavior should not be rewarded.

I truly do believe that now it is very clear that in no more than another four years, North Korea will "annex" South Korea, and Kim Jong-un will be the absolute dictator of ALL of a 'unified' Korea. After that, or perhaps during that process, he and his Chinese allies will drum-up a war with Japan. Japan chose a long time ago not to be able to defend itself, so, Japan will immediately capitulate and become a docile, subservient possession of 'Korea', China, and, to a lesser extent, Russia (the northern-most islands).

The U. S. will not (NOT) go to all-out WAR to save South Korea or Japan....

    Surely these are over-reactions.

This is aid thtlat cannot benefit the North Korean government or military in any possible way. It is solely to help infants and pregnant woman who are living in squalor thanks to Kim Jong Un's regime.

You said bad behavior shouldn't be rewarded, then what do you consider appropriate punishment for a nation which has disregarded international law and illegally invaded and destroyed Iraq, Yugoslavia, Libya, and Syria? As well as a nation which destroyed Ukraine with a coup, and that supports and arms Nazis and terrorists? Also a nation which has used the CIA and NGO's to intervene in foreign elections, and push for regime changes in 80 countries?

As for this media hype about Kim, it has nothing to do with N. Korea, S. Korea or Japan, and everything to do with encircling Russia and China with American missiles. This is why Trump provoked Kim. It was to put the Thaads in S. Korea, something the people didn't want. Would you want them next to you if it endangered you and your family?

Should it end up in a war, which I don't believe Trump ever intends for it to, it means that we consider millions of North and South Koreans as being dispensable when it comes to our geo political aims. Is it any wonder they hate us?

Russia said that N. Korea is situated between two nuclear powers, and both of them will be involved in any war with N. Korea. Russia is not the US. It never makes idle threats. They consider it a sign of weakness.

The N. Koreans are not living in squalor, and whatever they are suffering has to do with the sanctions imposed on them by the US. But that sanctioning power will be ending now that Russia and China will stop accepting American dollars as payments for goods. Without the American dollar, there is no way the US can follow transactions between nations and impose sanctions.

Russia retaliated for Washington's latest actions regarding its diplomats, by stopping any payments in its ports that are not in Rubles. This means it can accept goods from sanctioned nations without Washington being any wiser. Anyway getting off the dollar completely and going on a gold standard is going to be gradual, otherwise the world would fall into a depression... and that's something no one wants.

Know how to get NK to listen? Start seizing all black market goods entering the country. The open air black markets are keeping this country afloat, without them, the country dies.

Another way to get NK to listen, release a certain type of insect that destroys Rice Patties and bean fields in large number on the SK side of the border with a pheromone spray that would draw them North. Or just use locust that are reproductively hyperactive through Genetic Modification. Either way works.

The third, and simplest way to get NK to listen, Flatten Pyongyang. Don't invade NK, just flatten their radical capital and the rest of the country will happily join the SK cause. Pyongyang is where the higher ups and citizens who are fanatics for the regime live.
Farmers, commoners, the imprisoned masses including those logging in Russia under indentured servitude like conditions would all join the cause against the regime.

The key to keep China out (you'll notice they didn't attack us until we crossed the DMZ attempting to stop a massive 2 army retreat) of it is to not invade NK with American soldiers, that's the only reason the Chinese joined the fight last time. They were worried we would end up fighting on Chinese soil after the push through NK. Let the SK soldiers do the ground work, and America can stick to repeatedly flattening Pyongyang via the Air.

We should have bombed Pyongyang back in the 1990s but we didn't because of ****ing diplomats thinking that they could talk themselves out of a problem. Now we are stuck with a crazy man with nukes who could go bat **** at any moment.

Nonsense. Why else are those in rural NK crossing the border into Russia? Between 30 and 50K NK men at a time working in the Russian far east. Many trying to slip into China for food, money, etc.

And the idea that this is only because of the current US-led sanctions is nonsense. This has been a constant for decades.

    N. Korea suffered in the 1990's from severe floods, and there was a famine. This year their economy has grown, and Kim has made quite a few reforms. As for Russia, they need workers in the Far East for its grain shipments and the N. Koreans actually pay their government for the privilege to work in Russia. Not so to work in China.

    The following is from Wikipedia:

The current sanctions are largely concerned with North Korea's nuclear weapons program and were imposed after its first nuclear test in 2006.

Don't worry Jimmy, there will be a draft soon, because war is in our horizon. The world is over populated and the elites have to get rid of them somehow. Killing off brown and yellow people won't do it anymore. It's bound to come here.:salute:

The Byzantine Empire was the world's only Christian theocracy, and it's the only empire which survived 1000 years. They had more schools, more libraries, and more educated people than anyplace on earth. They also had more wealth than any place on earth.

They fought barbarians at the gates many times, and afterwards they paid them off so the attacks would stop. We did that too at one time. Our charities, (mostly religious) had schools, hospitals and orphanages throughout the Ottoman Empire, Far East and Africa. That ended when the sociopaths took over Washington and began killing, lying, bullying and manipulating, in preference to paying their fair share of the world's resources.

Now we're hated by everyone, and it's only going to get worse as time goes on.

It works until the barbarians have absorbed all your treasure, and then decide to just go ahead and take the whole damned thing -- bag and baggage! At the rate things are going, Kim Jong-un WILL take South Korea, and he'll take a nice, big chunk of Japan, too....

I can't imagine anything that would boost Kim Jong-un's morale than the thought of Uncle Sugar actually DRAFTING American Millennials and that next-generation of phone-pawing morons that is coming after them for a 'war'. Believe this -- there will be NO war. And that, dear Jeannette, is why Trump "tucked-tail" and ran away from actual conflict, choosing to engage in a "cash register war" of 'sanctions' instead.

[IMG]. "Hey, I know young Americans, and I can pacify Kim Jong-un!" [IMG]. "And they told me that this was going to be DIFFICULT...?!" :roflol:

Since all of our moves, except for war, are having no effect, I see that North Korea is going to be around for a LONG time. We can only hope that Kim Jung Un stays childless. Then maybe NK will collapse at the end of his life.

While the idea of bitcoin scares a lot of people, I find it rather funny, I mean it makes sense since it is basically just like everything else.

It's a little Peter Pan but with instant global connection, if enough people "believe" then your darn right it comes true.

Never. The President would be neglecting his duties if he did not fulfill treaty obligations to Japan. And I myself see Japan as an indepensible nation on the Western Hemisphere. The US-Japanese alliance is the guarantor of the Pacific Ocean. If NK/China make even the slightest encroachment, it's on.

I know there were floods. But the effects of those floods are exacerbated when the rural populations there are living in poor conditions to begin with. Famines don't generally happen in places where people aren't living in squalor. Right?

And the thing about sanctions proves my point. These people were living in poor conditions long before 2006.

China is not serious about sanctions on North Korea. They gave the middle finger to the United States. If anyone thinks this aid is going to women and children, you're seriously mistake.
