That would depend on the soldier.

The only part that matters is how people lose sight of context. So these pictures are some big scandal, eh?

What did they expect? A little morbid humor is natural when you're having to deal with nutjobs blowing themselves up.

We are not talking about Americans posing with dead bodies,we are talking about your supposed psychic abilities to know why a guy goes to war. Try and keep up.

Comedy is always a fine line. And it is always dependant on who is recieving the punch line. Ie if the body parts were americans and the poser was a islamic lad with a cheesy grin. Many on this forum would not find it very funny.

    ???

Al Qaeda never attacked people in Afghanistan until the USA invaded, and then they only oppose the local people who support the invaders.

Plenty of Muslims are brave enough to "defend the Afghans". Those are the people who have fought the USA troops for 10 YEARS!

I think would not find it funny is a bit of an under statement, they would be going potty over it.

You asked me something unrelated to that.

True, but that's just a matter of picking sides. I know my side. What's yours?

I have not asked you anything related or unrelated. You just went off on another subject.

Most of the insurgents fight for one tribe, not for the entirety of the country, so they're not "defending the Afghans". Once we finally leave, the Taliban is going to have to keep rival tribes from killing each other.

Ok, let's restart. You're saying that there's no way of knowing what Tanner's motivations were. I was saying you can conclude certain things from his decisions.

I don't even know why we're arguing about this, unless you're saying that you never assume anything from a person's decisions.

They did. We could've taken the same approach as them, but I'm pretty sure you'd be screaming bloody murder about it -- even more than you currently do.

Neither you or your mates have any psychic abilities and none of you know why the guy went to war. That is the only fact here. If you want to have a discussion on whatever fantasy version of events you want to make up then go ahead.

Why would he volunteer multiple times to get into an elite infantry unit then volunteer over and over again to deploy and reenlist overseas if he objected to the war?

Why don't you tell us? You seem to think you are the number one psychic around here, well you and courtney/Serfin. You know nothing about this guy only what you read in the papers so please excuse me if I laugh at your posts stating that you do indeed know his reasons.

He would be an idiot if he was against the war and did that, yes.

He wouldn't be if he supported it.

Just a ill innformed guess. As i won't pretend i am a psychic on internet political forums. Although it is a interesting to read the psycho babble with some here who try and second guess a dead mans motives.

It's MUCH MUCH MUCH more likely that he supported the war considering how many times he volunteered despite knowing the danger and having already experienced it. It is EXTREMELY unlikely that you're are correct.

Perhaps because I know many Veterans of Iraq/Afghanistan and am one myself? I'm also only a year older than this Ranger and was also Infantry, albeit not SF. I think I'm in a position to make a reasonable deduction about his views on the war. I'm not claiming he was an ardent supporter, but the fact that he volunteered over and over again showed that he felt it was worth putting his life on the life for.

In the real world where the real people live we call knowing what someone is thinking as some kind of psychic power. Nothing fevered about my imagination, just stating the facts as usual.

I never implied anything of the sort.

You asked me, what is your mental condition?

Such a strange question. I thought you were trolling until you asked it again. Now i am curious, how messed up you really are.
