Perhaps they didn't have questionable surprises revealed to the public such as this creating huge suspicion:

 

His father was Muslem and saw him exactly one time after he was an infant. HIs stepfather was a Muslim. His role model was his grandfather. While living in Indonesia he attended both Catholic grade school and public Islamic school.

Birthers have started with the lies, half truths, innuendo and speculation from before he was inaugerated and have continued with it to this day.

It's mainly the low IQ/low information social conservatives who buy into any of this birther nonsense, and because of their stupidity, they will literally destroy the party.

And I'm loving every minute of it.

 

The OP didn't even read his own post. It isn't 40% of Americans it is 40% of Republicans, hardly synonymous. Aside from the conspiracy nuts that is. Although it is true that one conspiracy nut's vote is worth the same as a Harvard professor's and as a result the GOP pandered to The Crazy, the black community has taken the birther lunacy as a sign of disrespect motivated primarily by racism. Personally, I agree completely. And it has, I think, done incredible damage to whatever chance the GOP had of gaining black votes after the fever breaks in a few years. Just like tea partiers, black folks have long memories and they won't soon forget the GOP pandering to The Crazy for short term gain. The same dynamic will work in the voting suppression strategy. And even if, like I'm sure all the true parrots will start squawking, "It isn't about race! REALLY!" ^ that is the way people see it.

The poll isn't saying that 40% know for certain where Obama was born.

What 40% are saying is that his phony Internet documents alleging his US birth are not convincing.

The half Kenyan may be legally qualified to be golfer in chief but so far it has not been proven.

And I have a graduates degree in Computer Science, but all that has nothing to do with the fact that his birth certificate from HI is on record, period. Denying hard facts is not a sign of intelligence.

 

You guys on the Left have been very effective when it comes to jawboning the Forum Moderators into moving threads around where you want them. For about the last four years I've seen that every thread that even touches on the subject of Obama's status as a "natural born" citizen of this country, however slightly, gets exiled out to the hinterlands of the "Conspiracy" section.

I no longer care. It doesn't make any difference now. And, in a perverse way, it's probably my own strain of "Schadenfreude" that makes me content to see Barack Obama, now quite possibly the worst president in the country's history, remaining in office to the bitter end at noon on January 20, 2017.

Perhaps after the American citizen taxpayer has had the full measure of this autocratic, America-hating, socialist nothingness, we may be a lot more intelligent and careful about the kind of person we elect as our president hereafter....
