Shootings at Sikh Temple Near My Mouse

We made CNN!

Dude walks in Sikh Temple and starts shooting. So far 7 dead and 3 in critical condition. Others injured.

Sirens coming and going all day.

Suspect killed and they are searching his home, a few blocks from where I live. Streets closed off. people evacuated.

Helicopters flying all over my neighborhood.

What an unfortunate event. Some of my closest friends are Sikh. Hopefully the perpetrator is brought to justice.

 

I think the perp is dead. Cop shot him. But not before taking a few rounds himself.

Horribly sad event, I wonder what the motive was... If I had to guess it'd be the Sikh were mistaken for Muslims, after 9/11 many Sikh were attacked because they were mistaken for Muslims... either way you don't attack a religion. If you wanna fight then join the military.

 

The description of the suspect suggests it might be a white supremist type.

Condolences to those killed and their loved ones who must now deal with this terror attack.

It's sad they were targeted at all, let alone for being mistaken as Muslims. I don't think you can more ignorant than that.

 

The shooting took place in a Sikh temple. Not surprising if there is some racist element to this.

 

Why of course it is...probably a tea party member too, right?

 

This is what I'm thinking. It doesn't take an Einstein to come to this conclusion.

 

One sikh interviewed on TV outside the temple said that temple had a few recent hate crime attacks but they didn't see the point in reporting them as they would just draw attention to themselves in the news and after 9/11 anyone looking 'different' was being looked at as being potential terrorists.

How many killed a year in USA by shooting?

30,000 is it?

How many shooters are Muslim terrorists?

1 or 2 at most?

Anyone have the national annual figures?

Yet the really sad part is no one wanted to mention the 'T' word till they had a Muslim name for the suspect.

Seems if you are not a Muslim then you can't possibly be a terrorist so once again we have some white guy extremist it seems who will never go down in history as being called a a terrorist. What he done apparently was not considered terrorizing the sikhs inside the temple.

Just shows how brainwashed Americans have become.

May the dead sikhs rest in peace and may the injured find a quick recovery.

Normally, I wouldn't jump to conclusions on this, but the description of the guy included a 9/11 tattoo.

Tea Party member might actually be a more likely descriptor than white supremist. Either way, it implies an obsessive paranoia regarding 9/11, and since it's not uncommon for Sikhs to be mistaken for Muslims by the ignorant, we have the possibility of a right winger who became paranoid enough to shoot up a Sikh church.

That being said, I'm not suggesting he's representative of conservatives in general. I'm just saying he was probably on the far, far right -- like Fred Phelps.

We'll see though....
