Should Schumer nuke the last remaining filibuster?

I agree with Senator McConnell, the filibuster must be preserved and it must be codified for all time. Neither side should play games with the filibuster as it effectively allows the minority party to exist. The removal of the filibuster by a Democratic Party that swore that Trump was a danger to democracy will be laughable, and if they go down that path McConnell can use the power of persuasion to the public to understate the dangers.

If they nuke the filibuster, they will most certainly lose the Senate in two years as Americans understand that despite all things Trump bad, the Democrats are not responsible enough with the Senate.

I don't think the dems have the votes to nuke the filibuster anyways, so it seems like a moot point. Manchin has said he opposes nuking the filibuster. So has Xiden, and presumably his VP's tie-breaking vote would follow his wishes, and there are other moderate D senators that I haven't heard an opinion on, but are likely to align with Joe Manchin.

    Yes.
The clerical version is just chicken sheet. So the Senate can avoid public record of votes on tough issues.
    End it.

    Yes nuke it.
Make politicians use a real filibuster.
    Make them prove a point.

The president has veto power. Then a veto override vote is required.

Brilliant enough to not be voted out of office or get impeached.

    Don't nuke 'The' filibuster.
Nuke the fake chicken sheet one.

Make the opposing group actually filibuster. Prove they have legit concerns.

Passing legislation should be difficult and non partisan. If both sides can't agree that a bill is best for the country, it should never become law. Fortunately the senate has a system for assisting that. Losing it would be tragic for both sides but, more importantly, for the people.

It absolutely should not be 'codified' and the darn thing came into existence quite by accident. If they could return it to it's original glory, where someone would hold the floor, talk for hours to run out the clock, in the Mr. Smith Goes To Washington style, I might go for it, but now it's just a nod of the head, a clerical move, and because of this, it's being abused, especially by McConnell, whose intent is not to block legislation he is passionately against ( which was how it was used once upon a time, maybe once a year ) he is using it to block EVERYTHING by democrats, regardless of whether it's good for America or not.

This why it should NOT be codified:

That's been a problem for many years and especially now. Our corrupt government does nothing for the country and everything for the party. If demonrats come up with something great republicants oppose it and vice versa. Both sides of the aisle are corrupt as hell.
