    On a more serious note, yesterday was the first anniversary of my beloved dog's death. She lived to be 16 years old and was the best four-legged companion a man could ever have. Her name was "Klia" and I miss her terribly.

    I'll be back on in the evening to toast to my pooch, for anyone who would like to toast with me.

    Mornin Stats. [​IMG] Sorry to hear that. We lost our good friend after the same amount of time. She is always missed and never forgotten. Nothing but good memories from all our time spent together.

    I ended up going and rescuing a pup after we lost her. All of our cats (3) are rescues too.

    Haven't had Dumplings in ages.In fact even my ages forgot about what a
    Dumpling looks like.All dumplings are not the same.Like say an Egg.
    So in that contest I guess I could be compared to a Dumplin'.
    Which begs the question ... a nice Freckle-faced Dumplin'.
    Or a sourpuss Dumplin' with a big stogy hangin' out the mouth.

    Yeah I am the same way. Work nights. I just transitioned over from the Chicago Trib to the The Times. So they have been training me on their puter systems. Couple hrs here and there.

    This week I start coming up, I start the full time work. First time in years where I will actually have days off and a paid vacation. Some things new and some things still stay the same.

    Dumpling....Flour, baking powder, salt, vegetable oil and milk. (sorry forgot exact measurments)...Mix together and drop by spoon-full into bubbling stew, soup, broth, etc. That's why they are not all the same. Basically a floating biscuit. Yummmm.

    Good morning. Here's what's happening in Big D today...

    (one perk of coming to work before dawn)

    To raise awareness of the dangers of substance abuse, the Highland Park High School student council rallied together to get four iconic downtown buildings to aid in their goal of painting the town purple.

    During the Scots football game against Mesquite on Oct. 23, Reunion Tower, the Bank of America Tower, the Omni Hotel, and One Arts Plaza will light up the Dallas skyline in purple.(*)During the game, football players on both sides will wear Project Purple decals on their helmets.

    Im at my house tonight with S.Wesson. Im hearing there is a freak loose in the area. So I come home to stay for a while and take my handgun. Im driving here thinking of my neighbor who was a cop and retired for many years. When I got my CCW permit he said, if you got 6 in the gun use 5. If that don't do it, use the last one on you.
    Solid advice!

    Then he gives me this cop type scenario. Suppose you got someone in the house. You got a gun on them. Now what? I said, Id tell them to get down. He said, Ok so now they are down. Now what? I said, Id get my handcuffs and cuff them and call 911.
    WTF you want me to say?
    Ahahaha We both laughed so hard. RIP old man.

    So now Im driving home and thinking of that and the old man and if I ever in a million years called 911 what would I say. Then I thought, Id tell them I have someone breaking in the house. I have a hand gun and a permit to carry so come quick before I go all Annie Oakley on his ass.
