One of my Christmas presents was a Roomba. The first time I used it, my dog started barking and following it around, when it got near his food dish he picked up the dish and left the room. I wish I had videotaped him.

Amen, sistah. I ventured out for groceries and stopped by the liquor store for a bottle of Jack to go with my black eyed peas. ;) How was Christmas? Got your tree down yet?

Those little Kiddie Carts are almost always Red.With white trim.
I musta seen thousands over the years.Usually in the yards of
Poorer folk.Or trailer parks. They are actually an American staple.
Like the board game Monopoly or a deck of Bicycle playing cards.

    LOL!

So the overall experience was positive and that means it was worth your mother putting in all that extra work for you. She raised a child to appreciate that both discipline and compassion are essentials tools to make it through life. I :salute: her for being such a great mother.

Tearing down that old house is becoming quite a chore. But I am getting pretty good at removing stuff without much damage. I have a lot of t&g heart pine and a lot of lap siding. It is becoming hard to make places for all of it. I just built a short ceiling 6ft 6 high and will stack a bunch of the t&g up there. Got a bunch of t&g 6 inches wide that has no finish and it looks pretty good. I will use some of the shiplap on the outside of my house. There is a place where the vinyl siding blew off in the wind.

That dang shiplap siding is expensive. The stuff is grey from the weather and it has some leftover white paint on it. I took a couple of pieces and sanded them down and run a scraper over them. Next time I will scrape and then sand. They should be some quality stuff if I can get paint to stick to it. I am going to a paint store and get a professional opinion....maybe two opinions. I have been buying 2x4s and I am going to build a scaffold to work off of that can be reused from time to time. It will be put together with 1/4 bolts. Built a few in my younger days but its been a while. But all that is down the road. Right now I am still getting wood. Now.....how am I going to get a new roof?

    Fun pet Facts.
Cats outnumber dogs in the United States by around 4 million.
74 Million to 70 Million. There are also a lot more stray cats
than dogs. Most people are somewhat aware of that.
But a neat fun fact regarding pet owners is that Cats tend to
be chick magnets. That ladies tend to prefer guys who are self-professed
cat lovers. That owning and loving a cat is a mark of compassion, care
and patience.Women tend to strive on those traits.
Because it tends to be a bellwether indicator of how guys will
    handle a love relationship.
Unless you know a chickie pooh who likes running after sticks or
    some old ham bone.They're are there,I'm sure.Kinda.

It does a great job on picking up pet hair. I have a friend that doesn't have pets and he has his programed to come on while he is at work. He likes his, I am sure I will like mine once I get use to using it, I still find my self grabbing the dust mop and broom. I recently had most of the carpet removed except in one room and I was impressed with the job it did in the carpeted room.

Interesting. I always thought it would have issues in carpeted rooms as it might get "clogged" sooner.

It didn't have a problem, I emptied it as soon as it was finished with the carpet. The room is probably about 15 x 16. It went up under the bed and any furniture that it could get under.

It is down and not to sound Scrooge-like but I am glad it is over.
Looking forward to the New Year and I am only going to dwell on the good times.
Starting out with the traditional, blackeye peas, hog jowl, and rice. (Peace, joy, and riches)
Happy New Year, hope you have a wonderful new year.

Nothing is better than a hot green tea and a good night sleep to make you feel better. I remember a few years back I also caught a virus and was sick through New Year's Eve and then some. Not fun.

    Take Care!

Funny, when I was a child I loved Christmas...but now it is all money . The only thing I look forward to now is Heat mizer and Cold mizer. But I do like the idea and meaning of Christmas ...just not the adverts. And Santa has not missed a year yet. Some don't believe dontcha know.
