Oh good grief. It's past 11pm. That means that Smartie won't reply until
    next month.

Smartie should write a book. "My Life from the Floor Lookin' Up" Unless
the professionals believe "My Life from the Floor Lookin' Down" would be
    a better view, er, title.

Where are my pants? I swear I had them an hour ago. Two hours
    ago? Do I hear 3?

Sold to the cute broad that's so drunk she...

And to think it's only Monday!

Whiskey?! Ugh... no thanks. Months ago I picked up a crappy cold and forced myself to take a shot of whiskey w/lemon and honey in it and sure enuf it killed my cold pretty quick. Nyquil and the rest of that OTC stuff is worthless. Whiskey will do the trick b/c it has medicinal value in it... but it sure has a bite to it.

You're on jury duty? That should be interesting. Are the other jurors prepared for having you on the team?

Jury duty in Dallas County sucks. I don't miss it. It's much easier in Ellis County.

    Of course I got chosen.

Silly case. Hairdresser was suing Reverend (from Africa 37 yrs ago) for injuries she suffered when he rear ended her bf's car on a freeway in 2011. She was going for $4500 medical, $5000 'loss of health' (pc -- pain & suffering). The only problem was... the defendant said the woman wasn't even at the wreck. She wasn't in the car he hit. And she wasn't listed on the orig police report. There appeared a corrected version of the police report that did have her name added... but it came out in her testimony that SHE went to the police dept and demanded they add her... and they did. Now this was a 4 car pile up and there was no question the rev hit her bf's car from behind. But out of 8 victims, she was the only one who got left off the report. Yeah, right.

Worst part... we 'worked' thru lunch because the judge thought the atty's would settle in chambers and he could release us. So it got to be 1 and he said we'd just push thru so we didn't have to come back tomorrow. When we finally got to go to the jury room around 4 (same room they keep the cheesy wedding arch in LOL) -- the judge had ordered us a pizza and Cokes. Best cold pizza & warm Coke I ever ate.

We all agreed she was scamming and the lone guy had taken a whole page of notes -- 8 discrepancies in her testimony... so we named him foreman. Verdict was back in 15 min, unanimous, in favor of the defendant.

    For duty and humanity.

    ;)

Ahh jury duty...just did it. Black couple, guy gets arrested because she calls cops and claims he battered her. He claims cops man handled him. (he wouldn't put down a cell phone he had so they took it from him). Now she says he really didn't batter her she just wanted him to leave. Psychologist testifies that she is suffering from battered syndrome. There is no evidence that he did anything at all to her. Prosecutor produces photos of last battering (former complaint). Yadda Yadda Yadda......He got charged with resisting police officer...bailed and walked.

The big one on 287 is where I go. Luv that church! About 50 miles r/t for me so I don't get there as often as I'd like. But it's a great bunch of folks.
