I know, Daise... it's very sad. We never know what life has in store for us, do we? :(

That old saying, "What doesn't kill you will make you stronger." Sometimes it can make you feel like superwoman.

Man, nasty weather around here lately. 40s and rain. Glad tomorrow's Friday. Taking a birthday girl to lunch tomorrow at Dakota's -- a short walk thru the tunnels from my bldg. At least a nice 2-hr lunch will make the day seem shorter. ;)

Take pictures of your lunch today.

We are getting the rain that you had yesterday.. Rainy and messy here today, suppose to turn cold, no snow in sight.

No pics of the lunch, but one of the scrumptious coconut pie we shared for dessert. Yum!

Well that pic didn't turn out very good, did it?

Mmmm, that one does it justice. The drizzle of sauce had a hint of liqueur. Very nice.

We both had the daily special... 4 oz sirloin strip steak, wedge salad w/blue cheese, crumbled applewood bacon & heirloom tomatoes. I ate that picture. LOL

Happy Thursday everybody. Just woke up and canned 5 pints...
    of carrots.

Do you know how much Bourbon it takes to can 5 pints of carrots?

Barkeep, I'll take a large mug of carrot juice. Hold the carrot juice and fill the
    mug with Bourbon.

Anybody seen Smartie? Right not I couldn't see daylight. Guess I'm in
    good shape.

    Later,
Prunie the Pruned... or is it the Stewed?

Here are some serious jams. I had this on 8 track and cruised the strips in
my 1959 Peugeot. Hey, I only had $175.

Pour a STIFF one and enjoy. Turn it up.

    Groovy, man.

    Peugeot? Really???

My mom drove, I think it was, a 55 Studebaker for awhile when I was a kid. It was purple. Gawd I hated that car. Glad she didn't keep it long. I got tired of walking.

I'm at the corner of "no turn on red" and "no parking between signs"

    Where is everyone?

    Yeah! A 1959 Peugeot 403.

LOL! I can't tell you how many times my date would have to "Pop the clutch" while
I pushed. Since it was so often they thought it was normal. I can't tell you how many
times I was thrown against the back window because she popped it too early. Or
how the car would hop down the road because wouldn't push the clutch in after
    it started.

I was skinny in the day.

True story. A cop once asked my what my car was, during a supposed driving
infraction. I told him it was a Peugeot. He yelled, "what did you call me." It got
gruesome. Good thing I wasn't holding at the time. I'd never stood naked on a
    curb before.

I had Flair ink pens in virtually every color. We'd draw psychedelic nonsense all over
    the car.

    Later,

According to my calendar it's going to be Saturday tomorrow.

That means I have an incredibly early gig that starts at noon.
It's a good thing we play good jams. It's a great gig and I'm fine
with waking up really early to make it.

SMW has yet to wake up early enough to see the gig. Can't blame her.
A 3 1/2 hour drive to see a fat dude play bass is hardly worth waking up for.
Why would anyone wake up before 8am unless they had a gig?

I might, if it pays enough. 8am is so... soo early. I remember back in
'74. I woke up to pee at 7:15am. It was a traumatic experience. Thankfully
I went back to bed and slept until a reasonable hour. I think it was late the
    next day.
