And we know this because you've just told us, you never lie and you're always right.

Sounds good to me, sorry gramps, no check this month. Maybe you can sell some blood to buy food.

    I've provided trustee reports earlier.

Zero funds - obviously you don't know what you're talking about.

    Time to do your homework:

I thought social security was about satisfying the needs of those less financially fortunate or not very rich? if it were that the not well off needs help with money, there is little they can do about it except petition the courts and state, of course.

So, the problem once again is money. there is not enough of it for all people of the country that are on benefits - where they get grants of money from the state to satisfy their needs, of course. if the state was to look at it's budget, they will notice that the people that need the money are allocated a large portion of it, but there is still needs. i know in america, for example, there are only ten percent of the people unemployed, but, there is nearly fifteen percent of the g.d.p. allocated for social security. i also know they get at least three trillion a year in 'taxes,' so that comes to at least 100 billion dollars for these people. with so much for them, how can they go without?

Let's get to my country, south africa. there is a hundred billion dollars in revenue or taxes, and, they will put like a fifth of that aside for the needy. we have a much smaller population than america, at just over fifty million, so, that is 20 billion dollars for our needy, coming to like at let's say thirty million people, about 20,000.00 dollars each a year, at 200,000.00 rand each a year! that to me is a lot!

But, due to corruption, we can kiss most of that goodbye. now, i want to find a way to cut through corruption!

So, each department gives a spread sheet to the ruling party leaders as to how the money was spent? each month, this could be done quite easily - there are seldom returns to the state, are there?

But, now i want to make more money available anyways! let's see if we can find some way to make more money for the people by the people?

If the state was to observe that most elderly people are supported by their kids, the amount needed comes down. if the state was to observe that employing the elderly would solve their 'pension gripes,' i am sure they would go for it. so, what can the elderly do?

The elderly make excellent baby sitters. whenever little kids see old people they think of being rewarded for good behavior, yes? if the elderly were to do paperwork from home, maybe with a fax machine, they could assist their children with their work endeavors, the children or parents would get more work done, they could see their pay load go up too.

Maybe if the elderly were to handle cases of misconduct for the state, they could share their own wisdom and life experiences with those they help? i mean, people could come to their houses after hours or during work time to have their cases sorted. any sort of paper work they could help with, it seems.

We must just remember, these people have for lack of a better term, 'put down roots' to keep them inside their houses. they are still capable of working shifts that do not require them to drive or such stuff. why my lecturer for maths and science was a retiree - who knows why these able people retire?

Anyways, we need to observe that there are uses for the elderly. maybe it could be in consulting, where they help people run businesses or something, maybe even as accountants?

Their kids could help by having them live with them, which is very common. if the elderly was to help the house hold budget in some way, then there is a little extra to go around.

But, some of you might say these jobs could be worked by other bread winners? this is exploitation of the elderly and the able as they are getting less money than a full salary? to them, i say, there is now a new job that was not there before, that nobody was willing to give up. these will only go to the elderly as they can afford to work on minimum wage and not complain, as it gives them something to do and is very affordable, yes?

As for those that need jobs, especially in africa and the third world, they need to start their own ventures. they need something to sell. if they have degrees or experience, they can sell that, sure, but even some schmuck can just create a job - good news for most!

How will they create their own jobs? well, if they do not have jobs then they are wasted potential. if the 'middle class unemployed kids' were to come up with a plan, they could go to their parents for the capital, depending on whether they like the plan or not. if they don't they could sell their plans! yes!

If someone comes up with a plan for a big business, they could promise certain things will happen, and then offer them a 'highlights' of the plan. this could be a legal binding document, where, the plan may be rejected, but, then they may ot follow the plan, yes? you know what i mean?

The bonds that SS/ Medicare hold are worthless, they have to be satisfied with current taxation or debt. They are not real money. It is no different than your wife taking money from your mortgage stash to buy jewelry and leaving an IOU slip. You have to replace the mortgage money with future earnings.

Why is this so hard for people to understand?

Oh, there is one other option, they can just print the money to buy the bonds, which inflates the currency. You know, the hidden tax.

No, SS was created as an old age ins. It was to be paid by everyone, rich and poor, based on wages and qualified benefits are based on qualified contributions. The more you paid the more you collect, no matter ones financial situation.

Of course, today's liberals/socialist/thieves would like to transform it into a full blown welfare program.

Germany's money printing worked for a while.

Tell me, is it your family policy to live well beyond your means and run up huge debt for your children deal with later? That's what those bonds are doing along with treasuries to cover our other deficits.

For the past 50 years I've heard people like you pretending that the SS system was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Any person with even the slightest degree of rationality can readily see the system is working and will do so for a long time to come.

The tax has went from 2% to 12.4%(expected to increase)The life expectancy has only risen 5(women)3(men) years. We are currently running 100s of billions in tax dedicated deficits. These deficits are transferred as general fund deficits that get borrowed every year.

No, it is not working. It is dragging us into a socialist slow death. Most smericans now are dependent upon it as their primary old age income when it was designed to be a supplement. It is a travesty any way you honestly look at it.

The only reason this Ponzi scheme has not collapsed is because the governmènt puts a gun to the heads of each generation to pay more.

Go live on an isolated island. Then you don't have to get behind it.

I think the easiest way to fix it is to begin taxing those people who can afford to pay $55,000 to shoot an old lion.

No thanks. I'm going to remain where I am. However, you telling me to go live on an island does nothing to convince me that advocating thuggery is ethically justified. So I will continue to advocate for political solutions that don't involve the initiation of violence against my fellow man.

I suppose you are just one of those who hold the position that might makes right.

So it's ok for someone to come in and go for a drive in the car sitting in your drive way?

If you suddenly placed trillion$ of FICA dollars into the private equities markets...what effect do you think this will have?

If you transfer all FICA monies and bonds to private accounts what will be used to pay current and future SS recipients?

What recourse will people have if their investment companies default, go bankrupt, etc.?

I would say that the argument you refer to has to do with what is being insured against.

You want SS to be insurance against being old. So, if you are old, you have a claim.

Others would like it to be insurance against being old without reasonable means of support.

The idea of cutting an SS check for Bill Gates or Al Gore or Trump hits me as comedy we can't really afford.

Maybe you should research the SS Act. If Gates and Gore paid in, they deserve their share. No surprise that socialist want this program perverted to their agenda.

Like I said; "Well...how many have dropped out of the workforce, how many are chronically unemployed, how many are in prison, etc.? These numbers add up to big numbers which are a burden on the government." What can we possibly do for an uneducated person, unskilled person, living in Mayberry RFD? What can we do about workers who can barely communicate, have low math and science skills, low self esteem, poor presentation qualities? What percentage of younger people today who have attained higher education, who possess skills, who can apply themselves to complex jobs, who place themselves in high employment areas, are having a problem with this economy? IMO the solution to any of this has nothing to do with SS, or wages, or living wages, or income inequality, or wealth accumulation...they are complex problems brought on by personal failures and this needs attention. Taking from the wealthy, forcing higher minimum wages, etc. will not grow the economy and will not encourage the government to provide more fundamentals for their citizenry...

    Absolutely.

It seems like we went over this with the Bush "plan" that could not answer the most basic questions.

Privatization would not include a transfer of trillions into the markets. The money does not exist. A true reconcile would involve reducing benefits, elimination benefits for some and diverting contributions. I would even accept some level of means testing during the process.
