socialism was tried in the 19th century and failed, so why do we allow dems to tryit?

    Convenient because it has already experienced the collapse brought about by a government that was too liberal with it's benefits and spending. Other countries are on the same path (although several seem to be trying to turn back from it). Soon enough there will be more examples for us to use.

    Republicans don't like to talk about the successful "socialist" countries where people are the happiest, like those in Scandinavia. Why is that?

    i love the unhistorical / unpolitical posts , socialism was tried and failed ? where did you read about that OP?
    Greece is a shiny example of extreme capitalism and absence of regulation fail ....unless you want to call 52 different tax exemptions for ship owners "socialism"

    The 21st century brand of Democratic Socialism is completely different from the Communist types. This Democratic Socialism can work.
