Yeah of course they should. Why else would we have classified information? Is that lying to the public? Should the public be aware of every nuclear submarine location? Should the public be aware of every military action? A president is ALWAYS choosing when to release and what to hold. Putting our population into a panic serves no point , and Trump made that call. Covid was entirely new territory in our country. Why add panic?

Lying to people to "prevent panic" only works if you believe the dear leaders know best or if there is an existential threat. Only truth-hating, freedom-hating psychopaths like Trump and his most extreme followers think that the best way to run a country is to lie to the minions and keep them docile for their aristocratic leaders.

 

He suggested using bleach or something similar internally . . . which doesnt' work. He also lied about the threat posed. I guess none of those lives matter to you, though. I've never quoted Maddow. I'm appealing to what Trump himself said. Which you have admitted you are unwilling to read because it challenges your dogma. We may have run a couple of research groups on the basis if testing everything but Trumps insistence put an inordinate amount of focus on what was an outside and remote possibility. As a result trials were run that would not have been run and people died in those trials
