I partially agree with Moore, and the main reason is lack of education, however, the biggest problem in the economy is our record high unfilled positions DUE TO LACK OF EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND RESTRICTIVE IMMIGRATION POLICIES.

......and these are the main 3 reasons why U.S. corporations have quietly established an invisible "high skilled immigration highway" between the U.S. and Canada, thus, filling hundred thousands of positions by establishing affiliates in Canada.

Why are the lib public schools not properly educating enough Americans for tech positions?

 

Traditional male jobs that were once considered high paying are either going away or just don't pay that well anymore compared to new age jobs. Construction, mining, factory jobs etc have stagnated in wage growth and computer based jobs have left them in the dust. It's a new era and there will be a rough transition period for older workers in traditional industries. Some will sink some will swim.

What’s the percentage in college right now? 60% female and 40% male? Boys and men have been forgotten/ignored by our educational system. Feminists cheer this, but it’s not very good in the long term.

 

I have to give Moore credit that he is willing to participate in discussions on programs like Bill Maher/ CNN/ MSNBC, etc. But the baggage of past misogynistic comments will sink him from ever serving on the Fed

 

FYI, for the lot of you, a tech career, or at least a college education in IT industry, one chooses that, it is in no way anything to do with socialism.

 

Socialism takes the need away from higher education. No need for that since you can get your share of the $ without it.

Moore has all but guaranteed that he won't be seated on the Fed when Republican female senators oppose him. Too bad but the incompetent Trump administration looks foolish once again.

The MAJORITY of states are and have been run and governed by RIGHT WING GOP administrations for years and each state has control of it's public schools, all of which are largely funded and run at the local level.So if public schools are all liberal, as you righties claim, then you have done it to yourselves.

 

It seems students don't want to pursue this things. Likely because public school isn't designed to educate children and youth in valuable skills. They are designed to teach people to be good factory workers.

The curricula perhaps. But training people to obey bells and have this amount of time for lunch and so forth is very factory worker oriented.

 

I saw my two daughters being well educated in a state university. The youngest graduates in 2020 with her degree as a registered nurse.

My oldest daughter met her fate trying to be a cop. She is very smart, she was very athletic, very kind, smiled a lot, but the cops at the places she wanted to serve at screened her out on the verbal part. If she seemed too kind to them, she was blocked. I had two active cops trying to harden her for the verbals.

Her son is soon to get his degree at a major university and will make a huge bundle at Facebook. To say he is set for life at age 20 is no exaggeration.

 

Hope you grandson isn't a Republican [or stays quiet] if he wants a future at Facebook.

 

Even in these post women's liberation days men are still the primary income earners and when there is only one by FAR more likely to be that single income earner so of course a decline in male earnings represents and decline overall and a decline for most families especially single earner families.

 

Perhaps but Moore sabotaged his own standing by unnecessarily alienating women. He had to know his 'skeletons in the closet' would likely doom his appointment to the Fed. Now Moore is claiming a smear campaign is the reason he will not be nominated to the Federal Reserve. Who is doing the vetting in the White House esp considering that Herman Cain was also suggested for the Fed.?
