Your justification gives the government thought police authority over the people. We think Trump might have interest in foreign businesses so we need his tax returns. No one other than you had said that something illegal will be found in his tax return so don't go there. Tax returns are signed off by an accountant as an accurate record of all transactions across personal bank accounts . Any foreign transactions will be queried by his accountants regarding their identity as are all transactions of significant amount.

What evidence do you have to support your claim they were corrupt during the Trump administration and why are they still protecting him?

And agree they have audited his returns in the years before and each year he served and have not filed any tax violations either civil or criminal against him?

Note the word request, and not demand or require. They can request all they want
The IRS already stated they won't release anything without verification of a legislative purpose.
And no federal law enforcement has come to the committees rescue to help either
So it sounds like they are stalemated until they get a federal judge to rule in their favor.

I reject your premise that they need proof of corruption in order to conduct oversight. Scotus agreed with me.

 

The law allowing them to get his returns has already been found to comply with the 4th. Did you miss that?
They want to conduct oversight of the presidential audit system.
