When there are legitimate concerns that other private citizens are using their position in public office to further their interest in foreign businesses then you can ask others to share their tax returns

Let me see. The thread is about Trump. Pretty sure Hillary isn't mentioned in the thread title and yet here you are defending the attacks on Trump that have gone on for more than 6-years with Hillary.

Way to stay on target. So sharp!

So you do support a full investigation into Hunter and Joe? And if someone did have interest in foreign businesses "illegally" which idiot would put that in their tax returns? Your justification gives the government thought police authority over the people. We think Trump might have interest in foreign businesses so we need his tax returns. Constitutionally speaking, thank goodness the founding fathers wrote the document and not you.

Lol at the hypocrisy just after you posted "Let me see. The thread is about Trump. Pretty sure Hillary (Hunter and Joe) isn't mentioned in the thread title " I could not care less about hunter or Joe.

No one other than you had said that something illegal will be found in his tax return so don't go there. Tax returns are signed off by an accountant as an accurate record of all transactions across personal bank accounts . Any foreign transactions will be queried by his accountants regarding their identity as are all transactions of significant amount.

Fish much? And there was no hypocrisy, even if you said it was. I responded wholly to your statements that it is okay if the government goes after a citizens private information. You said it, not me. So I asked the question that you must be okay with the GOP House going after Hunter and Joe. You introduced the door and I just opened it. Hillary was brought into a conversation that Hillary in her rocking chair has nothing to do with. You should try to keep your facts straight.

It was showing you how both sides make political claims that prove out to be nothing.
It wasn't about Hillary. In fact the trumpster himself made false claims.

Does that sharpen it for you?

By STATUTE.....................geeezzz you don't know that? And of course that pesky 4th amendment.

Tell I hear the leftist always crying out about the right to privacy, if we have this right to privacy wouldn't your most confidential and private financial information fall under that right to privacy? Else explain what right to privacy I do have.

    Specious diversion noted.

Has the FEC ever filed a charge against Trump. Has the IRS ever notified the FEC of a possible misreporting?

Do you support the 4th Amendment?

Again what is it you expect to be found we don't already know of any importance and is required for this legislation this committee is trying to mark up?

What evidence do you have to support your claim they were corrupt during the Trump administration and why are they still protecting him?

And agree they have audited his returns in the years before and each year he served and have not filed any tax violations either civil or criminal against him?

So what do you expect this Congressional committee to find that the IRS didn't find and we don't already know of any importance and is required for this legislation this committee is trying to mark up?

Now you’re claiming every republican on scotus opposes the 4th amendment?
It’s either that or you don’t know what you’re talking about.

So you’re against oversight of govt agencies until crimes have been proven? And how would they be exposed without any oversight?
    Sounds like a catch 22

    Cite it. *LOL*

Are you claiming that it overrides the statute allowing the House to request copies of it?

I laugh at this every time I see it.
    1. So first, what is it you expect to find in his returns that the IRS has no problems with
    2. When does it hit the left that Trump doesn't do his taxes and the outside accounting firm is liable for fraud
    3. What are you going to say when committees are now authorized to grab any tax return they want for a political purpose.

As per usual, the left really never thinks ahead.

Note the word request, and not demand or require. They can request all they want
The IRS already stated they won't release anything without verification of a legislative purpose.
And no federal law enforcement has come to the committees rescue to help either
So it sounds like they are stalemated until they get a federal judge to rule in their favor.

I reject your premise that they need proof of corruption in order to conduct oversight. Scotus agreed with me.

The law allowing them to get his returns has already been found to comply with the 4th. Did you miss that?
They want to conduct oversight of the presidential audit system.

I missed it, bet you will deflect and not explain it.

No such thing as a presidential audit system.

Trump's tax returns should be the last thing the democrats should be concerned about.
