On March 22, 1972, the Senate passed the Equal Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution, which proposed banning discrimination based on sex. The E.R.A. was sent to the states for ratification, but it would fall short of the three-fourths approval needed.

Due to the sick misgoginists who don't think women are human enough to have equal rights, not enough states ratified it.
My point that extremist screamers who swore it would mean unisex bathrooms helped stop it.....it did NOT mean silly things like uni-sex bathrooms....but idots who are scared to death of women said it would to help defeat EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL AMERICANS..

Passing in the senate is irrelevant since the senate does not ratify amendments.

As you point out for an amendment to pass it needs to be ratified by the states which is why the ERA was defeated.

The ERA was defeated for good reasons not for the silly revisionist claims you made up.

The ERA did not promote or call for equal rights it called for massive government oversight and control in all walks of life such as employment and education forcing quota based requirements.

The ERA was in fact a thinly veiled feminist supremacy amendment not an equal rights for anyone amendment

    No, it wasn't /didn't.

All those "horror stories" were started by people like the mentally challenged Phyllis Schaffly who started every speech with , "First I want to thank my husband for ALLOWING me to be here"... it's pathetic but there are still ignorant people like Schaffly who think the sky is falling if women have equal rights.

Now, I won't respond to your posts on this ....I fought the same ignorance 40 years ago and just don't feel like doing it any more.

    Yes it was did.

I am well aware of who Phyllis Schaffly is and ehr qup about permission from her husband.

Yes I know she was a leader in the defeat of the ERA but the fact remains that the ERA was a draconian law whose purpose was to oppress some at the expense of others and to institute far reaching government control over many aspects of people's lives.

Sorry you hate those facts but they are facts which you deny or are simply unaware of having never examined the details of the ERA.

The ERA was defeated because like many laws coming out of DC it was misnamed and a contradiction to the name it was given. It had nothing to do with Equal rights period/

Instead of bashing women who have been victims of insiduous, depraved and very nearly 'murderous' violence at the hands of men, you could make a difference and advocate against violence against women. That would be a positive step.

But no, you accuse women who have been violated in the most despicable way - that they are '...a member of a supremacist hate group like feminists.'

You should be ashamed of yourself.

And I have pointed out enough times that your advocate against White Ribbon is 'one' person only. So go pit your 'one' person against the advocates of White Ribbon - the Police Commissioner, the police force, and the Mayor. Go take it up with them.

I am an advocate against violence against anyone at the hands of anyone regardless of gender.

The problem with the white ribbon campaign is it portrays women as the only victims of domestic violence and men as the only perpetrators of domestic violence when this is far from the truth as evidence by the countless scientific studies I've posted, and it's been shown the justice system(which includeds the police and the police commissioner) is far from impartial in the United States. For example, men are given 63% harsher sentences than women for committing the same crime and that's after being 20 times more likely to even be prosecuted in the first place!!!

As someone who's a member of a supremacist hate group like the feminists, you should be ashamed of yourrself!!!

    Have a nice day
