Sexual orientation as defined by the APA is not a preference. But thanks for your highly informed opinion

    Religion is a preference however

Can a gay person have straight sex?

Are you now confused what sexuality is vs what stimulus is?

If someone gets aroused while being raped does that mean they want it?

Do we really need to have a conversation on a subject that I thought was discussed in high school? Oh wait, that’s probably banned in FL.

Can you swap religion? Does that mean religious people deserve not to be around children or should have rights or representation revoked?

If a gay person can have straight sex but they would elect not too, that means their PREFERENCE is for gay sex. And vice versa. There is no "gay" gene. It's not a thing.

Straight people end up having gay sex all the time when the environment pressures it. Take jail for example. Lots of straight men and women...people who when they have the option, elect to have straight sex...end up in gay relationships while in prison because that's all that's available to them. And once out they end up going back to straight sex again.

    Why?

    Because that's their preference.

Could care less about how the APA describes it. When it comes to these sorts of topics, western medicine tends to get too politically influenced. If it isn't a preference then it's an abnormality. (because it's not the norm) I'd rather not look at homosexuality as an abnormality.

    That’s not accurate.
Not all gay people can have sex with a member of the opposite sex. Not all straight people could have sex with a member of the same sex. Bisexuals exist.

That has nothing to do with sexuality or attraction

Yeh, I know you don’t care what anyone says if it disagrees with your opinion. We saw this with a ton of conservatives with polling they didn’t like being ignored as well.

Personally I could never have sex with a woman. I’ve tried. Could you have sex with a man?

You just keep asserting your opinion as though it were fact. You insist that gay people are making a conscious choice to be gay and denying that they feel as they do naturally and are attracted to the same sex the same as you or I are attracted to the opposite sex. People engaging in homosexual relationships in prison because they're left with no other option other than abstinence does not support your assertions. Not at all. Obviously there is no such pressure on gay people outside of prison, so it actually weakens your argument to point to that.

Gay people have straight sex all the time when it comes time to try and procreate and they don't want to spend 10's of thousands of dollars to get inseminated. Gay men can get erect and have straight sex. That's not uncommon either. You can have a STRONG preference towards gays sex and attraction...but that's your PREFERENCE.

Could I have sex with a man? I mean, I'd hate it..but I'm sure it would be possible.

There is no gay gene dude. I hate seafood and tequila. The smell of either make me want to vomit. Could I be forced to eat either? Sure. Would I throw up? Maybe. But my preference is to never consume either of those things.

    You didn’t answer the question.

Could you have sex with a man?

Do you have a source that it is common for people that identify as 100% gay (aka not bisexual) to be able to function with a member of the opposite sex?

You originally said sexuality is a preference and have now moved it to an action. Sexuality is attraction based, not stimulus based and no study has shown it is a preference.

No study has said it is not a preference. You CAN physically have straight sex but your preference is not too.

I could should you your most attractive man, then blind fold you up...and swap that man with a woman and have her go down on you. Your brain would convince your penis it was still a man and get hard but in reality is was a woman.

    Boom. You've had straight sex.

That would make you a bisexual then.
    Congratulations!

You will receive your membership card in the mail and meetings are each Thursday.

Also note, that isn’t sexuality though. That’s sexual action. Sexually is much more defined than the act of sex alone.

I unfortunately cannot function with a woman and I know many gay people and heterosexuals that cannot function outside of their orientation. Bisexuals are on a massive scale and a significant portion fall into that category.

Do you have a source for it being common for gay men to have sexual with women?

No it doesn't make me bisexual. It just means it's possible. You could have straight sex with a women. It's possible.

Except it has. I’ve posted several links. Would you like me to repost them?

That’s rape. Not sexual orientation. That you just listed that as an example of how you believe sexual orientation is a choice is absolutely terrifying.

Which has nothing to do with sexuality.

It is you are lying. Your penis wouldn't dissolve entering a vagina.

I have no need to lie.

If I could be straight I would be, well I would have been when I was younger which is when I attempted it numerous times.

Still waiting on your source showing it isn’t uncommon for gay men to have straight sex.

Your brain's choice and preference are what cause your arousal. There is nothing physical about it. You COULD get hard just as easily with a female mouth as you would a male. Because at the end of the day it's your brain's preference.

You don't like my use of the word preference as that infers it could be influenced.

This has nothing to do with sexuality though. That is a physical reaction.

If someone took your example of the blindfold and had you have sex with a man — does that make you a homosexual? Why not?

Of course not. Because my preference is still with women.

    But it's not impossible.

If there was an island and only women were on it. Having never seen a man. How many women do you think would end up gay?

Would you think the majority of the island would just opt out of sexual relationships? Or would you think it would be a much higher percentage?

Which comes to the entire nuance of the issue with the word preference indicating it is a conscious or chosen attribute. It isn’t.

Sexuality exists on a spectrum. The fact that you can acknowledge that sex is detached from orientation pretty much show your entire argument here needs work.

I don’t care how people have sex. You were arguing that representation will cause more people to turn gay but have yet to show any evidence of such.

Instead of asking to be spoon fed things you should already know, why don’t you just read the OP?

“Go woke, go broke” is about the only personal commentary given in the OP.

And while it does show how much bumper sticker logic influences these issues, it doesn’t really answer my question.

Why waste the time to respond if you are not going to respond? Is the question too nuanced? Maybe you can answer:
What exactly is the issue with stores having pride apparel? Especially when they have had it for many years…

To the point where y’all are threatening employees?

Oh I've been saying and proving that environment can influence ones preference.
