That's a state and local problem.
The Capitol is a Federal problem.
So I would expect him to make help available if they ask for it.

 

The 45% is not remotely close to being accurate. I have not heard a single Republican support the violence. Perhaps they are using support for peaceful assembly and making their voices heard as support for violence. I don't buy it, but will look at the methodology behind the claim if you post it. Did you look?

The survey you cited asked about support of protest, not storming the capitol. I would hope that 100% of Americans support the right to protest regardless of party.

 

First of all I would say that the fact that a violent mob of Trump supporters was able to overcome the security apparatus at the Capitol and pose a threat to members of Congress that was so significant that an important procedure had to be paused and members of Congress evacuated indicates that the so called Phantom that you refer to is indeed a real threat. Next of all, since you appear to have some knowledge of security, you should know that just because a threat does not materialize does not mean that it does not exist or that those responsible for security should not be prepared for various scenarios as they may arise. Consider what would have happened if a 20,000 man group like this had shown up with the intent of provoking an armed confrontation.
