Maybe you should listen to Gen Milley and the Sect of Defense press conference that just took place. It'll catch you up, so yes they are scrambling to get Americans out. President Biden made the decision on April 14th, 2021. The Joint Chiefs and Sect of Defense had and presented several plans that BIDEN CHOSE from. They said they had planned on the contingency that we're in right now. Gen Milley said we're going to get all Americans out that want out if they get the go, which is going to lead to some dangerous situation for our soldiers and citizens. Oh we also didn't have enough assets to keep both airports open which resulted in a lot of people being stuck once the military jetted. They have to til August 31st to get everyone out.

This is a disaster and everybody is starting to point the finger. Milley said Biden approved the plan with the contingencies. Their job is control the airport and it's the state departments job to get them to the airport. Wow this is going to get real ugly for everyone, what a f'ing cluster f**&. You can tell the military is ready to kick the Taliban ass and get our people out which will lead to bloodshed.

 

Nothing from that guy about anyone being abandoned.

Even your links say the Taliban is stopping Afghans from reaching Kabul's international, not that it is stopping anyone from any other country.

Brits are even saying they have 2,000 civilians trapped there. Again, I honestly don't care if it's 1,000 or 10,000.... The US government has a responsibility to ensure it's citizens are safe. Do you honestly disagree with that?

Honestly, it depends why they are there and if they ignored calls to leave when they had a chance.

 

That's the crux of the argument in that Biden told everyone that there was very little chance Afghanistan would fall. It fell in record time, days matter of fact, due to MASSIVE incompetence. The US government should have seen the signs and prepared an exit strategy for those citizens so that it didn't resemble that of the fall of Saigon, to which the POTUS guaranteed would not happen!

And these people have been there at the behest of the US government. They built schools, churches, infrastructure, hospitals and were under the false guise their government would protect them...

 

Just today of Biden's defense secretary!
