After the research, I added one to my list.

    Advantages to EVs:
    1. No catalytic convertor, which are stolen in great numbers from ICEs, and are a high-maintenance item.
    2. Regenerative braking. All that braking power is wasted in ICEs. Plus brakes usually last the life of an EV vehicle.
    3. No fuel injection.
    4. No gas tank, which can explode.
    5. No exhaust system.
    6. No transmission.
    7. No pistons, cylinders, spark plugs, etc.
    8. Can be powered by renewables.
    9. No exhaust fumes.
    10. No motor oil.
    11. No radiator or antifreeze.
    12. No gas stations - charge at home. Some utilities offer more affordable electricity rates for nighttime charging.
    13. Cost per mile is much lower (electricity vs. gasoline).
    14. Much quieter

All this leads to much lower maintenance costs over the life of the vehicle and a more pleasant driving experience.

Soon to come --- More affordable. Lighter.

    Still useless and unimpressive.

Again, take away the government bribes and EVs go back to a 2-3% share.

That's where the nonsense crashes and burns.

    But that'll come shortly.

I await the pro-EV spin that hand washing of EV's is better for the planet.

Cybertruck Turns Into Large Metal Brick After Going Through Car Wash
For a vehicle specifically designed to go anywhere, Tesla's Cybertruck seems like an extremely poor choice for getting from point A or point B. Even keeping the vehicle clean is a bit of a nightmare. As one recent owner found out, even a car wash was able to defeat the 6,600-pound pickup. As spotted by […]

Stop the presses! A tanker truck blew up in a third world country!

Obviously this is the responsibility of Americans who are not thrilled with EVs.

Cause if more Americans would buy EVs, the third world would be a safer place!

Seriously, give it up. You got nothing.

The basis of some of these recent arguments, and the subsequent discussion and shifting of the rhetoric.

Denier rhetoric: ICEs don't cause pollution.
Discussion: 1. Details showing problems with the technology to abate pollution caused by ICEs (catalytic convertors, older vehicles, poorly maintained vehicles, trucks, etc)
    2. American Lung association publications showing that many cities are at unacceptable levels of pollutants.
    3. EVs cause no local pollution.

Denier rhetoric: EVs can catch on fire in an accident.
Discussion: 1. ICEs catch on fire too, and the fires can be a lot worse.
    2. Newer EV batteries (Blade, etc.) have gone through rigorous "nail penetration" tests, and no longer have this problem. Gasoline will always be flammable.

Denier rhetoric: EV sales (in the last month) are down.
Discussion: 1. The upward trend of years and years has always had temporary dips. Inevitable after many months showing double or triple growth over previous years.
    2. EV prices and the most expensive component EV Batteries continue to come down, and in many countries cost substantially less than ICE vehicles.

Denier rhetoric: EVs are not good vehicles. Some even go so far to say that EVs are pieces of S***.
Discussion: 1. EVs are more state-of-the-art and much more efficient than ICEs. Regenerative braking is a a big part of that.
    2. EVs are much simpler than ICEs and much easier to maintain.
    3. Most people who criticize EVs have never driven one.

Denier rhetoric: EVs don't have enough range, and you'll get stuck somewhere out of juice.
Discussion: 1. EVs have more than enough range for 99.9% of trips taken.
    2. More and more charging stations coming online every day.
    3. Even on a cross-country road trip, EVs can be charged to 80% in a short time. Depending on the details this charging can be accomplshed in minutes, and always under an hour.

Denier rhetoric: Manufacture of EV batteries is bad for the environment.
Discussion: 1. The manufacturing process of any vehicle or propulsion mechanism is bad for the environment.
    2. When driving an ICE, petroleum refining and gasoline dispensing and burning is continuously bad for the environment.
    3. EVs can be powered from renewable energy. They can be charged at night, when Utility demand is low.

Denier rhetoric: EVs are way too expensive.
Discussion: 1. EVs are continuing to come down in price. In some countries, EVs cost less than ICEs.
    2. Fueling EVs costs less than ICEs. The everyday electricity costs are lower than gasoline costs.
    3. EVs require much less maintenance than ICEs.

The American Lung Association manufactured their conclusion. None of the their analysis has shown that any EPA thresholds have been exceeded. This was shown unequivocally to you a few days ago but you keep repeating the bogus argument.

    Irrational Climate Zealot rhetoric:

    1. EVs are so great people need to be forced to buy them against their will.
    2. We're obviously right. Trust us.
    3. If you don't trust us, we'll cheat and manipulate the government into forcing you to buy them.
    4. There is no 4. Just do it because we said so.
    5. Why don't you deniers just die and get it over with and leave the planet to us zealots.

While your findings do illustrate the ALA does not use the same standard the EPA uses, this is not evidence of manufactured conclusions. They are under no obligation to use the same standard. @Media_Truth probably should have pointed you to the EPA site as the discussion was related to cities being above EPA standards. You can do so here:

    https://www.epa.gov/outdoor-air-quality-data/air-quality-statistics-report

Note that reports may take some time to generate. They seem to be on a very slow database. May be best to leave it running on a tab and come back after a while. For an example, here is one for New York cities from 2023:

    Also generated with the report:

Sure it is. The EPA standards are safety standards. The ALA is manufacturing their own safety standards which are meaningless.

@nobodyspecific made a good point. His single example shows days when Buffalo, New York, and Rochester were all out of EPA compliance. When I get some time, I'll look up some of those California cities and Phoenix, that are frequently out of ALA compliance, because they probably often exceed EPA thresholds quite often. Also, ALA standards are not meaningless. They take into consideration problems which effect asthmatic individuals. Some of these folks use this data as a deterrent to moving to certain areas. Not meaningless at all!

    How many days??

Asthmatic individuals have been moving to the dry air in the SW United States for decades.
