Nonsense. The fact that I don't believe what you believe isn't evidence of either one of us being overly convinced of our own smartness. That is a separate issue - an issue of self pride that is evidenced not by nature but by personal behavior such as one can see in posts on this board.

The thing is that as a person coming from a scientific perspective I choose to remain neutral until there is sufficient evidence.

And, so far I just don't see evidence of a being substantially more advanced than mankind let alone a being with the characteristics commonly attributed to a god.

Evangelicals Have Higher-than-average Divorce Rates, According to a Report Compiled by Baylor for the Council on Contemporary Families
    Feb. 5, 2014 https://www.baylor.edu/mediacommunications/news.php?action=story&story=137892

WACO, Texas -- Despite their strong pro-family values, evangelical Christians have higher than average divorce rates -- in fact, being more likely to be divorced than Americans who claim no religion, according to findings as cited by researchers from Baylor University....

Evangelicals still have a higher divorce rate than the general public.
    http://uninews.com/blog/?p=948

That’s according to a study released just this year by the political scientists at the University of Washington. It shows that the 43% divorce rate among evangelicals is higher than the national average".."

I guess it would help explain it, but only for those who are religious fanatics. Normal religious people seem to have a normal understanding of the human condition and of Science, as far as I can tell.

You're making a rather crazy assumption without bothering to supply evidence.

Such a beautiful Imagery... So how is God NOT in there? Do atheists think of God as a terrorist leader?

ChemEngineer has a habit of dishonest quote-mining.

Michio Kaku Clears up God Discovery
    May 25th, 2017
    By Paul French
Several months ago there was a flurry of headlines claiming that Michio Kaku had proven the existence of God. In this exclusive interview with the famous physicist, Kaku elaborates on what happened.
    I&T Today:
You recently made a lot of headlines with your discoveries regarding the possible existence of a higher intelligence. Could you explain what you found?

Michio Kaku: There is a website that quoted me incorrectly. That’s one of the drawbacks of being in a public sphere: sometimes you get quoted incorrectly. And the reference I saw said that I said that you can prove the existence of God. My point of view is different. My own point of view is that you can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God.

Science is based on what is testable, reproducible, and falsifiable. That’s called science. However, there are certain things that are not testable, not reproducible, and not falsifiable. And that would include the existence of God.

You got THAT from THIS muddled garbage ??? :
""From Carl Sagan, who was an astronomer and popular television figure, we go to physicist, Michio Kaku, also a television figure.
“Universes are for free. A universe is a free lunch.” – Michio Kaku, physicist
“Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself out of nothing.” – Stephen Hawking (www.brainyquote.com)
“The mind of God we believe is cosmic music, the music of strings, resonating through eleven dimensions of hyperspace. That is the mind of God.” – Michio Kaku, www.scienceworldreport.com, June 13, 2016"""""

How does that prove there's a god??????

And,yes, if god existed he'd look rather nasty to me...the world is NOT a nice place for most of it's inhabitants...if it's his fault he's a terrorist leader type.

Right, but they can't get under the Bible's radar..:)

But mate, Jesus invited every human to be his chum and come to that great big party in the sky, and I'm happy to accept the invite!
If I was to refuse it, you can measure me up for a straitjacket..:)
Jesus said- "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son...he told his servants- go out and invite to the banquet anyone you find" (Matt 22:2)"

But if people don't want to come, they don't have to..:)

Jesus's message seems plain enough to me, or am I missing something?-
"Love God, love one another, feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the destitute, tend the sick, visit the prisoners, look after the poor"- Jesus of Nazareth (Mark 12:30, John 13:34, Matt 25:37-40)

Yes the lefties/atheists are freaking more and more nowadays because they took a terrible hammering recently, first the British Right voted to leave the wretched EU last year, then the US Right voted Don into the White House, and now the Brit Right have just put Theresa in 10 Downing St..:)

Who do you think it was who the eyewitnesses saw strutting his stuff, Buzz Lightyear?..:)

Don't swallow that mate, statistics can be juggled or made up to "prove" anything..:)
PS- Like I said before, Richard Dawkins has been married 3 times, so let me guess what happened as wives 1 and 2 cuddled up to him in bed-
WIFE- "Oh Dickie darling, talk sexy to me"
DAWKINS- "Very well, sperm is the male reproductive cell and is derived from the Greek word sperma (meaning "seed"). In the types of sexual reproduction known as anisogamy and its subtype oogamy, there is a marked difference in the size of the gametes with the smaller one being termed the "male" or sperm cell. A uniflagellar sperm cell that is motile is referred to as a spermatozoon, whereas a non-motile sperm cell is referred to as a spermatium. Sperm cells cannot divide and have a limited life span, but after fusion with egg cells during fertilization, a new organism begins developing, starting as a totipotent zygote......."
WFE- "OH SHUT THE **** UP!"

It is theists who lay claim to "moral superiority" despite constantly failing to live up to the morality that they espouse. According to Guttmacher 54% of women who have abortions claim to be Christians and one out of every four of them (13%) self identify as evangelical Christians.

    https://www.guttmacher.org/fact-sheet/induced-abortion-united-states

68% of evangelicals are Republicans according to Pew Research. That is the same party that promotes the immoral policies to depriving Americans of healthcare and not raising the minimum wage.

    http://www.people-press.org/2015/04/07/a-deep-dive-into-party-affiliation/

Furthermore nowhere is there any evidence that "Leftists and Atheists" proclaim their "moral superiority".

You have once again provided evidence of your mental instability. Also that the drugs your keepers give you encourage fantasy.

Your new meme should be "anything but truth".

    >snip<
    Baylor University is a private Christian university and a nationally ranked research institution;
why would they make up or juggle said stats regarding evangelicals?

Missing something? How about the ability to think without guidance from your "special" friend? Or to recognize fantasy and be able to differentiate between that and reality?

I almost feel sorry for you and your beliefs (make that read fantasies) but since you buy into them without attempts to visit reality you spoil that feeling.

His post clearly indicates otherwise, to anyone who understands the post he was responding to - which evidently doesn't include you, so thanks for nothing.

    Actually it's an observation.

I shouldn't have to, as the use of "science" to justify, among other things, recommending drug addiction as a treatment for chronic psychological issues, constitutes evidence aplenty; and of course that's no more than the tip of the iceberg.

This thread isn't about whether Jesus was popular among some constituency.

And, others of your list of religions have also engendered large crowds according to ancient texts written by their followers.

    No, it was an assumption.

And, your comment on medical science is equally vacuous.

The religious do these things because their book and faith says they should to get divine brownie points while a non-theist do good things because its for them the right thing to do and no reward is necessary but feeling good you did a good thing for another and treated them like a human being.
