Almost certainly not since it currently takes longer than that to get to the most likely candidates for single cell life forms in our own solar system.

Given that we have no idea what form the sensory receptors of an alien species might take or what portion of the electro magnetic spectrum they might communicate in or see in or how paranoid they might collectively be...

Then what's the life span of a solar system capable of producing intelligent life? It took four billion years to get from start up to us, how many billion years do we have to find a way to escape this solar system in order to secure the survival of the species And that assumes earth itself last that long. I mean it's not like we're sitting in a giant dodgeball arena with large chunks of rock and ice being periodical thrown at us.

They could have already found us and we don’t know. Their technology we be so far advanced than our own, it would be indistinguishable from magic (and we are already working on cloaking devices for the military). Maybe they won’t contact us until we reach globalization, all with similar goals and working together. That seems at least one requirement to break the space traveling barrier.

This is why I laugh at movies that have us defeating an ET that invades us. If they want to keep the planet intact and mine it for gold and other minerals, they could wait up in space while they unleash their AI on us. An AI that would be way better than anything we have. The idea that we could in any way, shape or form win against a hostile, space traveling civilization is absurd.

Maybe the visitor would be a bacteria or virus.

    Or release same...
We have enough trouble deciphering the motive of our species...

It’s a group. The same group responsible for crop circles, BigFoot and a dozen other schemes to test the gullibility of humans, my favorite being the 1938 broadcast of the War of the World’s.

Well, we certainly could be obliterated by a good number of threats that exist - everything from asteroids, wandering large planetoids or black holes that could disrupt our orbit, the concentrated particle beams that would sterilize Earth if they crossed our path, etc.

But, I think the bigger problem of surviving this solar system is that we simply don't have the physics to do it.

So, we have a few more billion years until the oceans leave. I'd suggest we should be working on stuff like reconciling quantum mechanics and Einstein gravity - hoping to find new physics.

And, it would help if we stopped with the activities that WE do to kill ourselves. Humans have no other good place to be. We need Earth.

I like the Great Moon Hoax, too. Maybe even more so, as the Moon was sitting right there in easy viewing distance of existing telescopes and yet the fabulous reports continued.

At least with the War of the Worlds humans were caught off guard with little information.

What humans will believe is simply astounding.

Still searching for intelligent life on earth... that and a universal empirical definition for what constitutes intelligence.

That's another problem, all right. There is literally no reason to believe that alien intelligent life will even have our same floor plan.

Well, one thing is clear: that Israeli military guy can't hold the secret!!

Now, we're supposed to believe that all the rest have been perfect in doing so?

I'd say that neither Trump nor scientists are built to keep secrets. So, this "secret" was divulged by what is perhaps the one single source that I would think might be able to keep quiet.

Well, it's still somewhat secret. The book is in Hebrew not English, so there is a language gap. I think if this guy releases this book in English it would be a best-seller, at least for a short while.

I tried to order the Hebrew version with the intent of trying to translate it by scanning the pages and running it through an image translation service (Translate an image (translateimages.site)). But I got a 503 error on the website that sells the book (היקום מעבר לאופק - שיחות עם פרופסור חיים אשד - הגר ינאי | ידיעות ספרים שאוהבים (ybook.co.il)).

I'm not sure what I should do now.

Oh, one thing I noticed was that his space-military career ended in 2010. That's some time ago regarding the new chapter in this phenomenon in the last 5 years. So, maybe he missed it, or like he said, everyone is taking it more seriously.

Or, most likely of all, he is lying his butt off, or has false memories, or is experiencing some combination of both.
