The house has sole power of impeachment, but it doesn't have unmitigated power to do anything it wants. It must operate within the laws of the land.

More ignorance. The impeachment clause is singular and separate. . That means the House has the power to ask for witnesses and documents from the president and he/she needs to cooperate...That is the law of the land. Your logic is foul and consists of total Trump talking points. If a president can completely withhold all witnesses and documents there would be no impeachment. Which is where your foul and bizarre logic leads us.. Total Trump talking points and nothing more.

 

In the case of Trump we know that he dillerbately held back Don McGann's testimony because of McGann's admission to Mueller that Trump wanted him involved in coverups. Cowardly Trump simply wanted to cover up as much of the damning evidence as he could so his attempts to block docs and witnesses were a sham. He also claimed that the 17 witnesses who testified in the House investigation shouldn't be allowed to do so. Once again Trump had no reason to dissuade witnesses from testifying except for purposes of coverups. We know for a fact that Trump simply wanted to hold back evidence that was damaging.to him. Trumps policy was wholesale denial of all documents once again this is a president who was terrified of damaging evidence and the truth. .

 

What does that have to do with his legal avenues of defense? Appeal to emotion is not how the legal system works. But it how those with poor debate skills operate on public forums.

Not to mention he is mandated by his Oath of Office to protect, preserve and defend the Constitution. The House impeaches and the Senate tries for acquittal or removal. In this case Trump obstructed the House and the Senate failed to hold a legitimate trial, both in violation of the Constitution.

 

What planet are you on. Trump wanted the coverup of McGann's testimony to congress because McGann already testified to Mueller about Trumps coverups. Once again you eat the Trump talking points and spit them out,. But you do this on planet Mars

The House has sole(exclusive) power of impeachment. They have no power to conduct impeachment outside of the rights afforded to any citizen.
