Half the work force is allowed and expected to work and the other half is expected to stay home, some without an income for an indefinate amount of time. And at the end of the day everyone is allowed to buy plywood and groceries at the same time and at the same places.

A true public health emergency would call for everyone to be locked down and all businesses and other gathering places closed. Those that have failed to prepare for such a possibility would be SOL. The inconsistencies of the response is unbelievable.

 

Your persecution complex is showing. This christian bigotry is all in your head. Your specific god will protect you. At least that’s what I’ve been told by many religious fanatics. Their specific god is all-knowing and everything that happens is all part of their specific gods plan. Surely their specific god will protect the believers.

 

Why social distancing? Isn't the RW idea that everyone will get infected anyway? So, let the churches just open up and be packed, and see where the chips fall. They'll get a good dose of Darwinists theory, which they otherwise deny.

The Constitution can be amended, especially to insure "the welfare of the people" ....and since when does public health take a back seat to religious belief? Here's the thing....you've had documented court cases were parents of a particular religious bent let their kids die of easily treatable and curable illnesses because they only allow "faith healing" and the use of distilled alcohol as treatment. Also, you have parents who would rather let their kid die instead of get saved by a blood transfusion.

Now that may be all well and good for them (sucks for the kids), but I'll be damned if they put me and mine at risk for their beliefs. I'll wager dollar to donut that if Covid 19 had a fatality rate like ebola and other hemorrhagic diseases, no one would bat an eye if local and federal gov't put a lock on the church doors and quarantined any religious yahoos who try to act on this craziness.

With all the re opening going on across the country, I see no reason Churches shouldn't be allowed to as well. Social distancing should be mandatory if/when they do. I just hope that they will...

But the constitution via people's individual rights tells the states that they cannot violate peoples rights..
Remember the constitution's primary purpose is to define and limit government. It is not a listing of our rights.

If it's not in the constitution, the states should assume it's ok for their people to do and not restrict behavior.

When passing laws that restrict peoples behavior the law should be assumed unconstitutional until proven otherwise.
