The moderation staff has noticed an uptick in reports and general churlish behavior in the last few days. Look, we get it. Cooped up in the house when the weather is atrocious, days are short and having to put up with house guests who are every bit as awful as you probably are. If I weren't a moderator, I would probably spend the holiday season running smack and flipping shade along with the rest of you, but we do try to be an example of how to take all that inner rage that we all feel when we discover our brother-in-law ate the very last Little Debbie snack cake and stuffing that rage into a hard little ball deep down in into the inner recesses of your soul where it will fester and metastasize until you make yourself a danger to yourself and society. As a moderation staff, we try our best to understand the issues and stresses that everyone on this board faces and we do our best to diffuse difficult situations, but we still have a duty to try and keep the board civil and respectful while maintaining a professional demeanor. Because of this, the moderation staff is re-implementing the naughty list. If you commit an egregious breach of civility then you will be listed on our naughty list for an entire year. The consequences of being on the naughty list is that you will not receive the Christmas cheer that you would normally get from the annual Christmas card which most Forum members are so used to seeing every year and you will not be allowed to participate in out yearly white elephant gift exchange. If that isn't enough incentive to remain on your best behavior, the moderation will report you to the authorities at the office of Santa Claus (or Kris Kringle)(or Father Christmas) (or that fat socialist who promotes the absurd notion that you are entitled to free stuff for simply acting like a decent human being). If you have one of your posts deleted during this Holiday Season, the deletion notice will include a notation that you are on our naughty list. So before you post some wicked snark, ask yourself, "Is it worth it?" Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! (Or whatever holiday you like that isn't going to make you all angry.)
