too much compromise with the right. too much pluralist mushy talk. he won't name names. he won't stand for anything. i'm sure a conservative would love the fact that i've turned on him, but they'd hate the reason why. he needs to get a pair of pliers and a blowtorch and get FDR on their ass. but he keeps acting like it's 1996 and he's sitting on a boom economy and he can do a watered-down clintion imitation.

You've described his raging incompetence. You think its frustrating for you? What about all of us that could easily see he was total bullsh!t BEFORE the election? That he got elected was frustrating, and its gone straight downhill since.

He sucks because he didn't blast right thru the backwards mindsets displayed similarly by your words and shove his whole agenda down their throats besides just healthcare reform. Good or bad, whatever, at least force progress.

 

A lot of you guys seem to have somehow managed to forget that when obama took office, the economy had already crashed. so to say he caused this is a little bizarre. he just hasn't done anything meaningful to fix it.

i don't think obama's the worst president in history. i think he's utterly mediocre and that's not what we need right now. in fact, i get befuddled by you guys who are enraged about him being this horrible, horrible, satanic, closet marxist, babyeater, etc., because it's almost like you're giving him too much credit for being interesting. hell, if he was a closet stalinist who wanted to destroy the country from within, at least he'd be believing in something. but no. he's just ... blah. he wants to curl up in the political middle and snooze and make mushy meaningless speeches where he doesn't say anything real. whenever i see him or hear him speak i wonder where you ODS guys even find anything interesting enough to inspire hatred. i almost envy you guys, because i think in a way what i'm seeing might be even worse.

that said, i'll give you this: i really wish he'd step down and let biden take over. i like biden. i still remember on 9/11, the day itself, when everyone on TV was crying and panicking and no one knew where the hell bush even was, biden was the ONE guy i saw who was being calm and optimistic, saying good things about america and her people and how we were strong and we'd get through this. and even then i was like, THAT's the guy. that's the guy i want to be president.

 

An absolutely stupid program that DOESN'T do what it is supposed to do and will waste multi-TRILLIONS of dollars cannot possibly be mistaken for "PROgress."
More like "CONgress."

 

Oh come on, Clinton left far bigger stains in the Whitehouse than Obama can ever hope for.

Employers slashed 598,000 more jobs in January [2009] as unemployment rate climbed to 7.6%.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Employers slashed another 598,000 jobs off of U.S. payrolls in January, taking the unemployment rate up to 7.6%, according to the latest government reading on the nation's battered labor market.

The latest job loss is the worst since December 1974, and brings job losses to 1.8 million in just the last three months, or half of the 3.6 million jobs that have been lost since the beginning of 2008.

huh? your graph says the opposite of what you wrote here. anyway, we'll never know what would have happened if we'd "done nothing", but i don't think it would have been pretty. just like we don't know what would have happened if we'd listened to you guys in 08 and just let the banks fail instead of bailing them out or if we'd listened to you guys a few weeks ago and refused to raise the debt ceiling. but i have a feeling if you liked america in the 30s or germany in the 20s, you'd have LOVED it. obama's mealymouthed but you guys are utterly reckless, and my main complaint with obama is that he's not defending the nation from you.

The ability to apologize or even recognize the need to apologize requires a sense of responsibility. That's something entirely lacking in liberals.

They can do the rhetorical non-apology. For example, Barack Obama is big on, "I want to apologize for the actions of those Americans...." That's not really an apology though. That's like me saying, "I want to apologize for Barack Obama." See, it just doesn't work.

And then there's the Barack Back-handed Apology. "I want to apologize for not explaining the Obamacare problem in terms simple enough that even the idiots who don't want to kneel would understand it." We understand, Barry. Oh, lord, do we understand.

So, don't ever expect a liberal to apologize. Whatever they did they're likely to just blame on you.

 

The difference between conservatives and liberals.

Conservatives aren't speculating on what "might" have happened if Bush hadn't cut taxes in 2003 that actually turned around the recession. They don't say it would have been worse without the taxes, they just say, "See, it worked."

Liberals speculate on what revenues "could" have been made if there wasn't a tax break in 2003, but ignore that there might not have even been a recovery without those tax cuts.

Conservatives say Obama's stimulus failed because there is STILL high unemployment and no signs of recovery. They aren't saying we would be out of the recession if we cut taxes, or if we had just let the markets play out without government intervention.

Liberals speculate that the world would have been worse if they didn't give out the stimulus and make up numbers to "prove" they were right, even though things are worse than when they started to mess with the free market.

Conservatives work with actual numbers and facts.

Liberals work with feelings and speculation, adding in made up numbers later to discredit their opponents or cover up their own failures.

 

As I watched The Sapranos and Sons of Anarchy, I notice Liberals and organized crime are very much one in the same, except organized crime can go to jail for stealing other peoples money. "Its not my fault I shot you, you got in the line of the bullet I fired due to the lack of love my mommy gave me as an infant and my dad leaving us."

 

you almost nailed it. just switch "liberals" and "conservatives" every time they appear and you're there. the tax cuts didn't create jobs. and that's no counterfactual, we're seeing it being demonstrated every day. and it's just amusing that you guys can say all these things about obama being a muslim, marxist hitler -- purely reactionary, emotional, irrational stuff -- and still claim to be the unemotional purveyors of reason. but i've come to accept it. being conservative is like that scene in Star Trek II where Kahn puts those bugs in those guys' ears, and they're doomed to be brainwashed for the rest of their lives. you guys just got the bug in your ear and you're going to be the way you're going to be forever.

Are you a millionaire? Did you get a tax break and NOT create a job?

Here is some more realistic numbers for you based in real life. Before the tax break, unemployment was at ~7%. After the Tax break and for most of 2003-2007, unemployment was at ~4%. Nope, no jobs created there. See how you ignore those pesky little things called facts?

But seriously, your argument starts off with "NAH ah, I know you are but what am I?" That is your argument? Really? I give you two prime talking points of the way liberals and conservatives look at two different situations, and you are saying I have them reversed? Can you show me the instance of how I am reversed on these two instances instead of picking up a straw man along the way?

Your situation is all opinion based either way you slice it. There is no right or wrong way to perceive Obama till he actually tells the truth about the ways he believes the economy should be ran...other than redistribution of wealth...or shared sacrifice...or collective salvation...(all socialist or Marxist views by the way)...we will really never know what he really wants for this country...fundamentally change us from a capitalist, free market society too...we may never know.

 

I thought we were actually given an opportunity to solve some of our domestic problems and maybe a few minor problems in the Middle East. It could still happen.

Why is it that alleged conservatives like to blame alleged liberals for things that seem to come from alleged conservatives in the first place?

It seems to be that our nationalized and socialized wars on drugs and terror are worse than socialized medicine should be.
