Our weather here in Jackson is really getting to be weird, right now at 4:11am it is 30 degrees it has been mostly below zero which is also unusual for this time of the year. We are getting very little snow fall. From west yellowstone over in Idaho all the way to old faithful geyser the roads are clear. There is only about 6 inches of snow on the ground there right now. All of the roads there should be non driveable with a whole lot of snow eveywhere.
Currently it's 47F and raining. Today's forecast -- Rain with a few thunderstorms this morning giving way to steady, occasionally heavy rain this afternoon. Thunder possible. High 51F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph. 1 to 2 inches of additional rain expected. Monsoon season in Mississippi!
right now it is 32 degrees outside with a clear sky. We have 4 days of snow forcast for this week. This is kind of like the calm before the storm. That is if we do get that snow.
The last week of December and still no snowfall of any kind in my little corner of the Midwest. It's been raining though.
here it is 7:15pm and it is still 37 degrees here in Jackson. Crazy weather. We have been issued a major winter storm warning for wednesday morning to thursday afternoon. I wonder what is next.
Its actually quite cool here at the moment, or maybe its just me. Who knows. I went for a walk earlier and the breeze was very chilly. It was supposed to be quite warm today so I guess the weather forecasters got it wrong!
OMG! There's this bright light in the sky outside! It's... it's... the SUN! "Morning clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine. High near 55F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph."
The first of the storm system is now movin into our area with light snow. They have forcast 8 to 15 inches for us and 15 to24+ inches for altitudes above 7500 feet. we are 6900 ft.
Tell me about it! Today was warmish, probably around 30 degrees, but a cold 30 degrees. Can't wait for Sunday, 39 degrees yay!
very unseasonablely warm here at 4:10 this morning. It is 31 degrees already. They have forecast snow each day until sunday, but so far nothing.
Scotland is also an igloo of cold freezing doom and gloom... It's like a wind tunnel here again. Gales up to 90mph were predicted and they're here. I'll try to get out and film a bit later on. The white horses are fairly galloping over the river... This is Hurricane Bawbag which happened earlier in the month. They said it went up to 165 mph and it was bad but it doesn't look that bad in this ...though I was cowering in the car. It was gusting and hitting the car like a fist. Click on the pic below to view the video, btw
I wonder what's happening with the climate. It isn't even freezing at night. Animals are not doing their wintersleep. Some trees are already in full blossom. A lot of plants, bushes, trees and flowers already have new knots...
They're not, that's just you... Sounds nice though. Gales are not unusual for us in winter, although they are quite strong. But it is warmest recorded November and I think 1c away from warmest Christmas ever. The fluctuation is strange. We had snow and now we're snow and ice free and back to gales...windswept and interesting.
Warmish here, should start to heat up tomorrow in time for NYE which is meant to hit a high of about 36, meaning the fireworks display could be cancelled due to a total fire ban.
39 Celsius two days in a row here. I've had enough of this heat. I've never understood people's fascination with fireworks.
For the past 4 days we have been under a winter storm warning. By now they said that we would have up to 14 inches of snow. But so far we have gotten zip. Right now it is starting to snow a little, wonder just how much we will get.
