The Republican Party is now the trump party. That is painfully obvious.

But the Democrats are wide open. There is no center or definitive platform. Each candidate will drive their own message and we will see which one wins. Only then will we know what THE LEFT represents in the mainstream.

I would much rather be supporting a moderate conservative; in the tradition of true conservatism. But I have to choose between crazy on the left, and a right wing that is just un-American and repulsive. I was a Republican for many years, then Independent, but will never vote for a Republican again. So it will be interesting to see who emerges on the left to lead the party.

It's simple really, the center of the Dem Party has become the ever increasing embracing of Socialism and of fascist style policing of thoughts and actions via leftist Political Correctness. You can select one of the openly crazy ones whom outright embraces this path or one of the seemingly mentally stable ones who deny the intended direction while -- mysteriously -- ALWAYS ends up pushing for it anyway by way of legislative policies. Enjoy.

That's hilarious. The Democrats have been sucked into a socialist vacuum. Watch, during the debates, the only debate will be 'who's furthest left'. We don't know who's on the Republican ticket yet, but it could be anything between a neo-con and a stealth libertarian.

The left has nothing, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

As to "the right", you're welcome to conclude whatever you want.

As a life long Republican, I have been concerned by the weak kneed, naive leadership, and how the execution of policy has been attempted for many years. It's been pathetic and ignorant of reality. That shortcoming lost California, and has been at risk of losing the Nation.

One has to be almost blind to not see how "the left" has been operating for many years. It's an in your face, agree or suffer, kneel or be removed, type of aggressive political offensive. Thinking that kind of action can be met with stately attitudes and smiles and handshakes is absurd.

It remains to be seen how long the electorate will tolerate this period of attacks and threats, political correctness, and violations of individual rights, but it will reach a point of rejection. How it shakes out after that remains to be seen.

You know, that's a fact. His threats to companies are certainly not capitalism in action. Apparently trump's idea of a free market is one where he dictates all the rules.

So all republicans look like each other and do the same things?

I was raised a loyal Democrat. Apparently you are not loyal to them. So don't vote for either side. There are no decent Democrats available.

Obama was the dictator over the automobile. Look up his dictatorial laws. They are under Obama orders right now. And thus you see the huge PU and SUV making the market. Problem with them, a once lower cost vehicle, thanks to Obama now costs double what they used to cost.

I have not been a republican as many years yet as I was a loyal Democrat. I woke up only after serious study. The poop coming from Democrats was so deep, I had a lot of digging to get to the surface. Democrats are fanatics. I know when I was one, I and my family were loyal fanatics.

Take FDR. We worshiped the man. What did he do. He plunged this nation headlong into socialism. I mean so called benevolent socialism. Today Democrat hate discussing Socialism so they try to play the definition game. FDR did not like Jews. He kept them mostly out when they tried to escape Hitler. Blacks? He banned them from combat for a long time. Flying fighter airplanes? He finally let a few fly keeping them out of combat until the end of the war. Truman dropped the A bomb but it was FDR and his team that invented those. FDR definitely planned to drop some on Japan. FDR went hog wild with taxing the public. What did he do with billions of dollars? Hand the money to the communists.

Right... except it's the other way around, whoever wins and regardless of his/her personal positions will be held hostage to the insane extremist radical wing of the democratic party.

But by all means, don't take my word for it, ask Chelsea Clinton who expressed supposedly uncontroversial criticism of anti-Semitism or Pelosi who wanted to pass a resolution condemning it, how did that work out for both of them?

The dem party is lost to the extremist monster it has created, it can't control it any more, it is controlled by that monster now.

Democrats have an overriding objective - winning. Except for a couple of gad fly types on the sidelines, the party knows socialism is a non-starter in the U.S. When it comes to winning or placating the gad-flies, count on winning. 2016 and 2018 were great learning experience for Dems. They lost in 2016 and won in 2018. They know what made the difference and they are wedded to it.

    Trump? It's 51% to 49% he won't be around in 2020.

Trump is acting like a true conservative compared to previous Presidents with the exception of spending. He has done nothing unconstitutional like the last POTUS.

Actually they don't. Midterms almost always go against the party in power and the general election is not the same thing. The democrats lost by a much larger margin in their midterm with Obama as President.

AOC shouldn't be calling herself a socialist. She isn't a full-on socialist. She just wants the government to play a greater role in a global emergency. But Dems supporting AOC further polarize the electorate. Bernie was dumb to ever use the title as well. That alone makes it impossible for them to attract right-wing moderates and left-wing conservatives - and the largest voting block, Independents.

Bernie tries to moderate it by saying he's a democratic socialist. But you can't sell subtle ideas like that in politics.

Biden and Bernie are too old. I just don't see them carrying the day. Maybe Biden. I like Biden but he isn't inspiring.

I don't know about Beto yet. But his resume is razor thin. A BA in English Lit? At least AOC has a degree in economics. In short, as far as I can see, he's just a hairdo. And the answer to trump is probably not a boy scout. But I'm open to having my mind changed.

There are probably going to be a gaggle of Dems running. So that ensures that the views will be radical at times. But I'm hoping the diversity will give the party a new and well-considered direction.

Ah yes, another victim of the lies of right wing media. I see a definite pattern here among Trumpers and their willingness to blindly accept what they are told to believe.

You hold beliefs. Where did those come from? When I was in the evil Democratic party, they schooled us on how to lie to the public. Did you graduate?
