There's less than twelve years left anyway according to Saint AOC.

I understand the evils of religion clearly enough. My hope is that religion fades entirely. It won't happen in our lifetimes, unfortunately.

Not sure why you enjoy the idea of me being threatened with death.

Maybe the Vatican should have a secular head of state.

Or, better yet, the Vatican should be dissolved entirely.

Vatican should be dissolved. It's left over from a more primative time. There is only one way the pope could have my respect.

First: sell all the vatican city treasure and give the money to charity

Two: apologise to the countless people harmed by your evil organizition.

Three: admit that your organization is a total fraud and always has been.

Four. Abolish the office of pope

That is literally the only way to be a moral pope. The office self selects for immoral people. Its the only way to become Pope. The Pope knows that the Catholic Church is lying fraudsters and makes the choice to participate.

Agree I don't know why a church has a country.

This is Christianity. Pacifism, as their prophet Jesus had shown them.
    What do you expect?

Correct me if I'm wrong but Jesus washed the feet of low-lives too and got a lot of criticism from stuck-up "holy" people like yourself. And I don't see how kissing feet someone makes such a big difference. You say it symbolizes submission, but so did washing feet. In Jesus's day, washing feet was something a servant did, and Jesus showed that this is incorrect and is something done out of love not servitude. Kissing someone's feet can be viewed the same. Jesus's message was to love everyone, never fight anyone, and give everything we have to the poor. It as a message of greatness through love, servitude, and poverty. If you don't agree with me, maybe you aren't a real Christian.

Unfortunately, that's the nature of Christianity.

Did Jesus kiss any feet? No. End of story.
And yeah, perhaps I am not a real Christian.

The nature of Christianity is not to bow to the devil and kiss his feet, no.

    Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His Holiness Pope Francis is an idealist...... he does rather extreme things........

I try my best to look at things from many angles...... and in a positive sense he seems to be applying various statements by Messiah Yeshua - Jesus in a rather extreme manner.............

His Holiness Pope Francis deserves an Academy Award for doing his very own personal rendition of "Peter the Roman"......
the last Pope before the coming of Moshiach....... in one form or another??!!

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes
For all of his many, many, many flaws and imperfections I do believe that His Holiness Pope Francis would probably tend to react better than most Christians to the exaltation of Mr. Mitt Romney and the Latter day Saints in a more humble and wise manner than many of his critics will??!!

The Great Christian Civil War and Donald Trump.

Humility is an asset, along with patience, understanding, & compassion. The display of any or all of them is NEVER a disgrace. Pope Francis is following in the behavior of Jesus. If we fault him for that, then we must see ourselves as the same kind of people who found fault in Jesus. Jesus didn't act the way he did as a response to the actions or presumed actions of others. He did it because it was the RIGHT thing to do. Pope Francis is doing the same--regardless of how those he treats with respect & humility might respond. Their response is THEIR responsibility, not Pope Francis'. He knows that, and acts in accordance with his conviction that Jesus was right, & following Jesus' lead is right too. I think Pope Francis is one of the better Popes in history. ALL Popes had faults, simply because all Popes were human. Francis has faults too, but he is a good human.

Not to mention his unwillingness to address priest diddling kids, and taking a hard stance against the problem and not let priest who are guilty move to office jobs in the church.

By involving himself in world politics. His job is to guide the church. He would do well to confine himself to that.

Isn't it up to the pope to decide what the pope's job is?

Not really because she found that out when she was in college. It's been... carry the two... I think she'd say, eleventeen years since then.

I hope it's an African pope. I think he could do a good job and there has never been one. The Spanish are good folks. I just want a change and hopefully, for the best.

Maybe he'd be more effective at doing this or that, but it would seem to me it's a mainly a value-judgement, and I can't see anyone who'd be in a more appropriate situation to make that judgement than the pope himself.

The pope we have now is Hispanic, and he is humiliating and betraying Christians everywhere when he washes or kisses the feet of Muslims. Lots of good it did. Over 800 churches in France were vandalized in 2018; and it would be absurd to blame this all on feminists and anarchists.

Yes the current Pope should had declared a world wide holy war on all Muslims once more instead of washing some Muslims feet.

footnote to those who might share the intellect of the current US president I am being sarcastic.
