Many of us benefited from the suffering of our ancestors.

I like to ask American blacks to answer two questions.

1, where would you be right now if it was not for slavery.

    2. where would you rather be.

Our Constitution and supreme law of the land was intelligently designed to be both gender and race neutral from Inception.

    Socialism is about equality.

Their ancestors benefited and were born here, and have all the opportunities of an American citizen.
Remember, they are still trying to come here from all over Africa.

I have no interest in visiting a slave plantation. All I would be thinking of is how many slaves were whipped and worked like animals to make money for the slaveowners. Not to mention how many female slaves were causally raped.
I have studied Black history since I was a young girl. The first story about Black folks that caught my eye was the Emmitt Till lynching. This took place in 1955. I read about it around 1962. If you are not familiar with this tragic story, please Google it.
Also, there is an excellent book you should read: "The Half Has Never Been Told" by Edward E. Baptist. This book goes into great detail about how enslaved Africans created the foundation for the wealth of this country. Mr. Baptist did lots of research. This book tells exactly how the slaves were tortured and worked practically to death.
After reading this book, you will lose your romanticized view of slavery.

You are also taking the exception and turning it into the rule.
A respectable southern gentleman would not touch a black girl sexually.
Yes, it happened, but there was a stigma attached to it that most would not want associated with their names.

And the common attempt to make believe the blacks were whipped all the time is movie stuff.
They needed the blacks healthy to produce and be comfortable in their environment.

You can call it whatever you want, but you and I know that blacks have the same opportunities as any other race in America.
To many blacks think it should be handed to them,
and the whites know they have to work for it.

just as wrong, blaming white people for slavery is no different, no white person living today is responsible for slavery, nor is any black person alive responsible for the black people that sold those slaves to the white people - time to move on

both poor whites and poor blacks are suffering and need help

    blacks blaming all whites or
    whites blaming all blacks
    doesn't help anyone

I do not have a romantic view of slavery. How do you feel about the 12 presidents that owned slaves? Would you mock them all? I graduated from high school in 1956 so am familiar with Emmett Till. But are you also aware of the over 1000 whites that were lynched?

Studying black history but leaving out a lot is perhaps how you came to your views. You were not born thinking like that.

They take the movies made at face value. At the plantations one can visit, the lecturers can discuss the history plantation by plantation and do.

It is hard to visualize such a cruel group of people all beating slaves and causing them harm. A great way to kill off your group of slaves in my view.

then I would blame all blacks for black racists

You are very, very disconnected from real life. Today's Racism is not about the era of slavery, itself, because it is about the current legacy of slavery and the new Jim Crow laws which oppress today's Black citizens.

You had to pass by many, pages, of ironclad proofs on this website in order for you to come post the incorrect statement you posted here. For example, even non-USA entities spend 10's of thousands of $$$ on studies yielding facts about how America is bitterly racist toward its Black citizens.

You can come be disingenuous toward Blacks, sure, but you cannot EVER be that way toward the facts:

it depends, rich people were the ones that owned slaves and not all rich people are good people

many thought the bible justified beating your slaves as long as they did not die within a couple days

    Not being very realistic.
Thousands of years ago in Asia ,slaves were easily captured and expendable.

In America you had to pay for them, and pay a lot.
They were an investment and losing one would be a great loss.

Actually no, Black racists are not a problem. Because, they are meaningless ---if you go by American historical proof and facts.

Racism is only effective, when it can effect a community or a populous or a sovereignty or a society. ....hmmmm... So let's ask ourselves, rhetorically, how does Black people's racism have an effect on America? It doesn't. Because, it can't.

Racism needs this thing called, power, in order to be "racism" within its denotative state iow to be more than a definition within some dictionary. Where here in America Black people own no Industries, Blacks control no markets, and Blacks dictate no cultures [except rap music and dance-offs] therefore their racism is meaningless here in America ---unless they have a violent mass Movement...and so far we've only seen that in almost 30yrs.

You know damn well blacks are far more racist than whites.

Look at you, every post you make is about race.

But the black racist crap comes out of the ghettos, and poorer hoods, where nobody speaks English, no education,
Gang members, people who lost their chance in the real world.

Slavery goes back to the earliest civilizations--along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Mesopotamia, the Nile in Egypt, the Indus Valley of India, and China's Yangtze River Valley. A lot of this early slavery were captured warriors from people conquered.

If a "respectable Southern gentleman would not touch a Black girl sexually" how did all those little mulatto babies get made?
Two great Black men who were born during slavery had Black slave Mommas and White Daddies. Fredrick Douglas and Booker T. Washington. It was a fairly common occurrence.

What I find interesting about slavery, it was Muslim and African country which were the last countries to make slavery illegal. Qatar in 1952, Saudi Arabia and Yemen in 1962, UAE in 1964, Oman in 1970 and the last two, Niger in 2003 and Mauritania in 2007.
