He was allowed to by virtue of the U.S. Constitution, namely the 2nd Amendment and his Concealed Weapons Permit.

Aside from the race issue, I think the far left is more angry that Treyvon was killed "with a gun" than the actual fact that he was killed, period.

I bet that if he had been killed with a knife or a club, they wouldn't be half as ornery about this as they are.

The phony-Zimmerman outrage is motivated by a combination of 'white guilt', and simply a hatred of gun ownership - that's how the emotional left's mind works.

 

Exactly, he had every right to carry a concealed weapon under the law for his protection and we all know now it helped him save his own life.

That child Trayvon could have end up killing George and George did say that prior to him shooting Trayvon, Trayvon said "you are going to die tonite"

We don't know if those words spoken by Trayvon was true or not but regardless of it, George had every right under the law to defend himself by shooting Trayvon.

 

And it's exactly that dialogue that Zimmerman would've had with himself if he wasn't carrying a weapon. That's why most sane laws contain an instigation clause that disallows pieces of cowardly (*)(*)(*)(*) like Zimmerman to start physical altercations just because they know that they have a lethal backup.

Actually, if Trayvon Martin had carried a gun and it was found that Zimmerman acted the same way by stalking Martin and starting a physical altercation leading to Zimmerman's death, you can bet that in the deep South of Florida, they probably would've put Martin in prison for life. Especially if you pay attention to that racist jury member who was quite happy to display her prejudices all over the airwaves.

Zimmerman, on the other, fully adult, not teenager still in highschool, was arrested in 2005 for "resisting officer with violence" and "battery of law enforcement officer".

In that same year, Veronica Zuazo, Zimmermans ex-fiance, filed a civil motion for a restraining order, alledging domestic violence.

Your Pillsbury Doughboy image Zimmerman fattened up for his trial, was not the Doughboy at the time of the stalking and killing of Trayvon the laid back teenager walking home with skittles and tea. And previous to that, the skinhead version Zimmerman, was prone to be a violent personality and an obsessive compulsive stalking his ex-fiance to the point she felt threatened enough to get a restraining order.

 

The incentive racists make it very hard to agree with the verdict. The type of behavior in this thread is that of animals. People that have no souls. Sad.
