Three million more votes for Clinton than Trump?

The Democratic leadership has made a serious mistake of not pandering to it's historical base of "beer drinking middle class white Americans" but still the majority of the American people supported the Democrats over the Republicans in the last election. Many of the traditional "beer drinking middle class white Americans" did vote for Trump but they arguably did so by mistake. Trump is first and foremost a con man and he simply conned them into supporting him. He's offered nothing that will benefit them except empty promises. As long as they continue to believe the empty promises they'll be happy but someday the reality will sink in that Trump never cared about them, or anyone else for that matter, because Donald Trump is only capable of caring about Donald Trump.

And look at what "gems" they are -
Rick Perry - for whom 3 is too big a number, and I doubt could even spell "Nuclear"
Price - corrupt congressman who ought to be in jail for insider trading
Pruitt - bought by the fossil fuel industry
    DeVos - bible-beating bimbo
    Tillerson - Russian award-winner

When someone keeps repeating "Believe me", keep one hand on your wallet. You're about to get fleeced.

That's because 61% of the uber blue California voted for the democrat. That was enough to get Clinton 55 electoral votes. Take away California and Trump wins by a million, even when you count New York.

What if we went by counties won?
    Trump - 2,623
    Clinton - 489

    States won?
    Trump - 30
    Clinton - 20

And of course he won the electoral votes, big league. This should be a lesson that pandering to minorities and minorities only will get you the most votes in California, but it won't win an election for you. I bet it sucks to realize that a democrat might just have to become a white supremacist racist and pander to some white people, as terrible as that sounds. We'll find out if enough white people are dumb enough to fall for it if it ever happens, I bet they aren't.

The problem is that the Electoral College system worked out hundreds of years ago was corrupted by the politicians. Read Federalist Paper #68 that (Hamilton) explains the Electoral College system.

    http://www.constitution.org/fed/federa68.htm

If the Electoral College system was being used today as envision and incorporated into Article II of the Constitution then neither Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump would have ever become the president of the United States.

Our current system where the political parties select the members of the Electoral College that are obligated to vote for their candidate is the most insane process ever invented for the selection of the "Chief Executive" of the United States. It makes about as much sense as having the workers of a corporation, that know nothing about the roles and responsibilities of the corporate executives, select the CEO as opposed to having the Board of Directors, that do know the roles and responsibilities of the corporate executives, select the CEO.

The political parties, for their own self-interests, corrupted the selection of the president by the Electoral College which is why we're not getting the leadership America needs today. Instead we get stuck with making choice over the "lesser of two evils" as opposed to having a president that would actually be beneficial to America and the American people.

And the hypersensitive "marine" continues to cry and moan... I hope you're stuck with these people for at least 4 years.

Really? You asked for proof, and I gave it to you.

I was a little surprised you required any, but hey, I did what I could to help you out, anyway.

Trump had one of the lowest Electoral College wins in recent history. Only George W Bush managed to have a smaller Electoral College majority (twice) when compared to Trump. At best it could be called a "minor league" win based upon the corruption of the Electoral College by politicians (Political Parties) in 1804.

How do you figure it's corrupt? It gives every state a voice instead of letting the 3 big states choose every 4 years. That's why people laugh when the left cries about Hillary winning the popular vote. You can't win the popular vote in 40% of the country and expect to win against the person who won the popular vote in 60% of the country. There's nothing corrupt about the electoral vote.

Yeah, he might start telling the truth and behaving like a president. That would be a real surprise.

Assumes extremist alt right factoids NOT in evidence!

The Dems won the popular vote ergo their base cannot be "eroding".

While I agree that anecdotes are not data the polling data shows that the next generation rejects the extremist alt right and embraces diversity.

He doesn't even want to be President, he's going to quit the campaign before Nov 8th, I've got polling to prove it herp-de-derp-de-yuk-yuk-yuk.

Your comprehension shortcoming is not my problem.

The election results show the Dems winning the PV by 3 million votes.

Explain exactly how that equates to an "eroding" of Dem support?

I don't care how many he won, he had 74 more electoral votes and the road to victory was paved and had a red carpet laid out on it for Hillary from the time she began campaigning. It's funny that I never heard any complaints about the electoral system before November 9, 2016.

Dems lost Michigan Ohio Wisconsin Pennsylvania Florida.
I really shouldn't have to explain this kinda simple stuff to you.

Just look at obamas elections, then look at what Hillary got. its not too difficult to see the democrat decline.

or you can just play pretend, I don't really care.

That's because of California where dem support is anything but eroding. Did you forget that Trump won all the battleground states that Obama won in the previous election? Come on man, it's not that hard.

Stop deflecting, I'm not disputing that Trump won and Hillary lost, but I am disputing the conservative supposition that means Trump's agenda has widespread popular support

Are you still trying to argue that a loss of the popular vote somehow amounts to a "mandate of the people"?

I know, "we won, we won", keep on saying that. Maybe YOU should get over it, your faux 'victory' is blinding you to the facts. How you turn crowds chanting "lock him up" and "not my President" into "Make America Great Again" is beyond me.

Clinton won the popular vote in 40% of the country. Gotta do better than that to win. Clinton won 15.5% of the counties in this country. Gotta do better than that to win. Clinton won 42% of the electoral votes in this country, gotta do better than that to win. Take California out of the picture and Trump wins by a million, gotta do better than just California to win.

    Get it yet?
