This last minute change hadn't even been implemented, so no one was hurt, by not implementing it. And since FHA loans are higher risk, this slightly higher fee to cover defaults is perfectly reasonable.

Your slightly higher fee is 50-100 dollars a MONTH...because of pure ideology

    One mind posted

The middle class do not use FHA. It is for low income people, who then get subsidized on their house payments...we pay part of their house payment.

So, if he doesn't drop the insurance fees as Obama was gonna do, it will be the same, right? So what the FHA home buyers never saw, a reduction just will not happen? The gov't/taxpayer help with FHA will remain the same, which is already generous. No need for Obama to touch it to begin with.[/QUOTE]

    Dude...you don't have a clue

It would seem that since Mr. Obama waited until the last week of his presidency to put this in place that it was nothing more than a dangerous subsidy that could not be afforded that he knew would be walked back by the next president. It would also appear this was done simply to give the left what is, quite frankly, a dishonest talking point.

YOU are claiming they are wrong.

    Prove it

You can excuse it all over the place...but there's no doubt it hurts middle class home buyers

Did you actually read what he wrote??? It doesn't appear that way. What he said was that HUD decided to drop an Obama housing program not because Trump ordered it but because Trump was elected. He said nothing about trump ordering it.

One is a tax write off, the other is a program to underwrite unnecessary insurance kind of a large difference there.

They are both Federal subsidies that help people afford houses.
