Well I have two sons and a daughter-in-law who all did and through multiple tours, what point exactly are you trying to make, he is to be judged merely on how many served under him?

He knows how to make sure others don't.

It's controlled by the civilian President and the civilians who are represented by the House and the Senate. The SecDef leads it and carries out its duties.

The Senate will pass a waiver. There are also talk of some Democrats supporting maybe even some of them are finally realizing how the military has been held back from protecting us and how in danger we truly are after such a lack of leadership.

Anyone in the military who says that he "hates civilians" doesn't understand the oath that he took to serve this nation. The CinC is a civilian for a reason. Trump was a draft dodging civilian.

My problem with Trump's cabinet picks to date is that I have not seen any that will be the "voice of reason". In essence Trump is surrounding himself with sycophants and warmongers. That is a very dangerous combination for both this nation and the rest of the world.

If I was the Australian PM I would be trying to find a way to put as much distance as possible between himself and Trump.

Don't worry, the warmonger candidate lost. In case you missed it, Trump wants the US to stop trying to overthrow other countries leaders and stop nation building. After the last 16 years of it I would think you would approve.

Margot, oh, Margot, you will be vilified and scorned for doubting or criticizing Our Leader and his Royal Decisions.....Mad Dog, (a great American leader named Mad Dog to add prestige to America) could commit treason, like General BETRAYUS did by giving his hooker state secrets, and Trump followers will NOT care.

General Betrayus is ALSO getting a cushy job in the TrumpDump.... ""all traitors need apply""" :)

They teach you in boot camp that civilians are trash. You take an oath to defend the constitution not the people. I didnt have much use for civilians who were constantly calling me names and treating me like crap. Veterans werent treated like they are today back during Nam

That deeply held principle of civilian control of the military goes back to the National Security Act of 1947 that gave to much civilian control over the military that allowed Presidents as Commander in Chiefs and the four secretaries under the Department of Defense, Army, Navy and Air Force to actually play general or admiral micromanaging the military even on the battlefield while not having any freaking knowledge what they are doing.

We saw it with Truman, LBJ, Obama, McNamara, Rumsfeld, Mabus and a dozen more. It's not the job of civilians to decide what strategies or tactics should be used during war or on the battlefield. It's not the job of civilians on how many push-ups or pull-ups a solder should be required to perform or if a soldier can dress in drag or suck dicks in the barracks,

That will never happen. Being a soldier is practicing constantly for something you hope you will never have to do.

The House does not need a super majority to change the law and the Senate cannot filibuster cabinet confirmation votes per Reid. There will be the expected temper tantrum by the dems but competent leadership will brush that aside and quickly confirm.
