There were worse Popes, like those who tortured their enemies, however in recent centuries, Pope Francis has been the worst. That's what the Catholic Church got for putting in a Marxist instead of a Christian.
Popes are human beings and have their own views on the world, but their major concern is the human soul ...or at least it is supposed to be. Christianity shouldn't have anything to do with politics, while Trump on the other hand is a political leader. He has been given a mandate to protect the people he is in charge of... and part of that is to see that no one enters the US that might endanger others. From what I have noticed the Catholic Church runs on a shared wealth communist system, rather than the individualism more common in the Protestant faiths... In that sense the Pope is a globalist. Yet as a Christian he wouldn't want the dissolution of ethnic identities and cultural differences by imposing one set of standards on the world... as the globalist ideologues are now doing. This is something the West has done throughout the centuries... and which the jihadists are now trying to do. It is reminiscent of the Soviet Union, and I see it as pure evil.
1- Different singers give different cover versions of songs but the underlying melody stays the same. Likewise, different Bible translations interpret some words differently but the underlying message stays the same.. 2- As I've said before, I don't give a rat's ass what "scholars" and "organised religions" say, It won't do us any good running with the herd if most are going up the spout. I just go my own way.. "Work out your own salvation.." (Philip 2:12 KJV) Or as a great prophet once said-
I'm not really surprised with Trumps criticism, the list of people he actually likes and approve of is not very long Vladimir Putin Ivanka Trump KKK and other white supremists Islamophobes China anybody who loves him and thinks he's a god
The whole point about 'god's' word is that it is supposed to be immutable, literal and not open to interpretation. The Bible states this quite clearly.
Yes but not all Bible translators agree on how certain words should be translated into english, that's why there are many Bible versions. Personally I like the dynamic duo of the KJV ( King James Version) and a modern version such as the NIV (New International Version) because the KJV is fearless, and although some modern versions are pol-correct, they at least use modern english.
Donald Trump's a far keener authority on Christianity than some mere Pope. Surely everyone can see that? I mean would a Pope Tweet at 3am, or grab a woman's vagina?
Interesting, because the purpose of his visit is "to pray with the Mexican people". But evidently this doesn't meet your strict requirements, nor those of that model Christian, Donald Trump. - - - Updated - - - There was no criticism of Trump in any of the Pope's statements. There was nothing political in any of the Pope's statements. You seem to selectively read whatever you want the message to say.
The pope should tear down the wall around the Vatican to prove he's not just another hypocrite liberal but we know he won't do that, he is a hypocrite liberal.
The Pope is NOT the "universal symbol of goodness." What percentage of American Democrats agree with the Pope on abortion? 5%? Do you agree with the "universal symbol of goodness" on abortion?
The vast majority of Democrats are going to demand outlawing abortion for any reason out of their love and admiration of the Pope. No one by a hate mongering idiot dare disagree with the Pope - or at least that is the perspective of some Democrats posting on this thread. Whatever the Pope says MUST be agreed and complied with.
Wow, you must have majored in history, to articulate so clearly. - - - Updated - - - Yeah, you're right. We should all disagree with the Pope praying in Mexico.
Pope Francis is a Latino and we all know how much Trump hates Latinos. No wonder why he omitted them from his cabinet: http://thehill.com/latino/315006-trump-wont-have-hispanic-cabinet-member-report Trump Cabinet will be first in decades without Hispanic member: report President-elect Donald Trumps Cabinet appears set to be the first since 1988 without a Hispanic member, according to a new report. Hispanic groups are displeased that Trump ignored their community when making his final Cabinet-level appointment, The Dallas Morning News said Wednesday. "Were extremely worried, Hector Sanchez, chairman of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, an umbrella group of 40 advocacy organizations, told the paper. "This is anti-democratic. Trump has not only been the most anti-Latino, anti-immigrant president in the history of the nation, [but] by not including Latinos in his Cabinet, he is just showing how he plans to govern." The executive director of the nonpartisan National Association of Latino Elected Officials, meanwhile, said Trumps Cabinet reflects his ignorance of Hispanic leaders. The most obvious thing it means to me is that he doesnt know Latinos, Arturo Vargas told The Dallas Morning News. "He himself and his team dont know who the Latino leaders are. What this does is it makes our job as advocates for the Hispanic community infinitely harder." The Hill reported late Wednesday that Trump will pick former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue (R) to be Agriculture secretary, according to a source familiar with deliberations over the pick. Trumps team is expected to officially tap Perdue Thursday, the day before the president-elects inauguration. Reports emerged last month that Trumps team considered the Agriculture slot the most likely for a Hispanic Cabinet appointment. Trump purportedly met with two Hispanic candidates for the role: Elsa Murano, a former Agriculture undersecretary for food safety, and Abel Maldonado, a former California lieutenant governor and the current co-owner of Runway Vineyards. The Morning News listed former Rep. Henry Bonilla (R-Texas) as another possibility on Wednesday. Trumps incoming White House press secretary said the president-elects Cabinet choices are based on merit. [Trump] has continued to seek out the best and brightest to fill out his Cabinet, Sean Spicer told the Morning News. "I dont have any concern about diversity. We have 5,000 positions, and I think youre going to see a very strong presence of the Hispanic community, he added, referencing senior administration appointments and White House staff. During the campaign, Trump angered many with his rhetoric about Mexican immigrants and his proposal to build a wall on the southern border. Trump =
It is only natural that Trump is critical of Pope Francis. The Pope is held in very high esteem around the world, Trump is not............the man-child can be quite jealous and childish.
I've got nothing against Catholics at all. However, like you say, many Catholics just ignore this new pope. The Vatican is nothing but unfettered power, wealth and pomp. It's been that way for since ................? Forever?
Most Catholics I know (and I'm a devout, regular Mass attending Catholic) adore Pope Francis. We may be sometimes initially confused by news reports of what he's said, but when you read what he actually said and the context of it, he is teaching and preaching nothing new that other Popes haven't already addressed. Pope Francis is trying to reduce the pomp. The Vatican's wealth is highly overrated, as most of it is in priceless artwork, and the Vatican pretty much breaks even--it makes money some years, loses money other years.
Correct. I don't know why this concept is so difficult for the other posters. The Pope is not considered infallible unless he is officially speaking as 'the voice of God', which by Church Law he can do only under certain circumstances. At all other times he's just a selected leader that one can grumble about. The only ones who have to obey him all the time are people actually in the priesthood.
Yet Obama did the ta-ta in the Pope infallible, socialisArgentina. Like he did in his and her entrance into the "Sugar island",w/o any Cuban political entourage, later to attend Cuban BB game. Wondeftul PR shot, but where in the h... did his real allegiance lie?
