With less taxes, over Climate change, huh? Guess they just don't believe in that equal misery part about socialism.

It's your derangement to think that he is and US citizens are in danger of losing their liberties. Too funny.

The "funny" will be the loss of your freedoms with a dictator in power.

Paris burning is a positive thing for Trump supporters.

    Go figure.

Their goal is to do away with gasoline operated cars by 2040, and in Paris by 2030. After that, the gas tax will be irrelevant.

It’s illustrative of the political impossibility to significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

After that France will be irrelevant.

If you read the thread, you will learn it is about much more than gas tax.

I am sure the French will still find it relevant.

If source of fuel makes a nation relevant or irrelevant, and I guess I don't know what to say. Personally I am not attached to any particular source of fuel.

Where does the energy to power their cars come from ?? How much does all this cost ?? Conversion to a much more expensive energy source will kill economic growth.

Currently they get 75% of their energy from nuclear power. It is cheap to produce, but there will be expenses getting the system set up with sufficient number of charging stations etc, but once operating, it will probably save them money. They do not have oil, so they have to import all the oil they currently use.

As a matter of fact France is the worlds largest exporter of electricity, and that being the case it makes sense to switch over to electric cars.

China will appreciate that plan. It wasn’t in their 100 year plan but it certainly helps it.

I’m not sure it was a left wing protest. The French were protesting against high taxes to combat global warming.

That doesn’t sound leftist to me.

Let's start with the so called free press. The media in this country is anything but free, it is working for anti Trump anti conservative forces. It is the new Pravda.
