No, there is nothing wrong with investigating a crime -- when using the proper channels. The prosecutor can't have a COI, which is what ethical people do understand. So, if there was an investigation into Biden, Trump should have 0 to do with it. Otherwise, we get into Banana Republic territory, where it is normal to investigate political opponents for political gain. Not sure why this is so hard for Trump defenders to understand. Actually, I think they, and you, understand it perfectly well, but they are so emotionally invested into Trump that they are willfully ignorant.

Even IF he would ask the AG (not even a foreign government) to investigate Biden, although he has the power to it, it would be a political crisis. In ANY investigation of Biden, the president should have nothing to do with it, even from the start.

Of course, the AG could be complicit, which would not be unexpected with Barr, who seems to be a trump doormat. However, that kind of thing didn't work too well in the Watergate scandal. trump has to be very careful. My read of the situation is that his call to Pelosi indicates that Trump knows he is in trouble. My guess is he was trying to strike a deal with her, but no go. This indicates that Pelosi thinks she has the upper hand.

 

Except the only people so far "opening fire" are low IQ democrats.

As to your own the president, as well as being cic is also head law enforcement officer, the notion that he can't at least suggest that an investigation into this that or the other should be conducted is ludicrous.
