OMG that changes everything. Thank for the in put. Are you afraid the great negotiator can't pull it off? Because that's my thing not the wall itself.

Oh my you are woefully uninformed..........

As of January 2009, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that it had more than 580 miles (930 km) of barriers in place.[3]

AND..........The border is NOT 2500 miles as you say.........

The 1,954-mile (3,145 km) border between the United States and Mexico traverses a variety of terrains, including urban areas and deserts.

    You're 0 for 2 so far.

The wall' going up. And in the end, less illegal immigrants means less money spent on supporting them. The wall will pay for itself in several years or less. And it'll cost Mexico dearly what's with less Wester Union wires going down South, more money staying here. Good for America.

The Trump Cult is in a state of rapture over their fantasy of a "big, beautiful wall", but most Americans are far more sensible than emotional, and oppose the ego-massaging boondoggle by a wide margin.

In the end, his cultists may find themselves feeling like Trump® U alumni or, as he grabs them by their xenophobia, a married woman he "moved on like a b*itch!" by bragging about his yooj hand.

They're going to be very disappointed.

purty sure the Chinese did purty much the same thing a while back. Of course that was a thousand or so years ago

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Wall_of_China

The Great Wall stretches from Dandong in the east to Lop Lake in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia. A comprehensive archaeological survey, using advanced technologies, has concluded that the Ming walls measure 8,850 km (5,500 mi).[4] This is made up of 6,259 km (3,889 mi) sections of actual wall, 359 km (223 mi) of trenches and 2,232 km (1,387 mi) of natural defensive barriers such as hills and rivers.

Look, I am very pro-wall, but I am also VERY much in favor of LEGAL immigration.

There are things in your post I want to address, because I get the impression you are against immigration of any kind for any reason. (Please forgive me if I am wrong.)

What is of greater concern that there are American citizens who think that based on our history, we owe a place in our country to people who were not born here.

That belief flies in the face of immigration law, and basic history. Historically, immigration was always for the benefit of the people who already lived here. When my grandparents came into the US through Ellis Island, there were conditions to entering the US.
    • They had to be able-bodied to be allowed in.
    • They could not be blind.
    • They could not be sick with a communicable disease.
    • They could not be (known) criminals.
    • They had to have a sponsor who legally agreed to pay any debts the immigrant failed to pay.
If they failed on any of these counts, they would have been put in quarantine or put on the next ship back.

This system ensured that the people allowed in were likely to improve the nation, and it worked. The point was for the immigrants to BENEFIT the US, and for them to prosper here if they assimilated and worked hard and saved, and contributed.

The current problem is that not everyone who immigrates is a benefit to the people already here. The influx of unneeded labor and skills has put the previous residents a disadvantage in employment. (For example,It used to be that teenagers worked at fast food places, but now it is immigrants who have those jobs.)

This is exacerbated by the rampant entrance of illegal immigrants
    • NONE of whom have sponsors to pay their unpaid debts.
    • Who may or may not be sick, handicapped, unable to support themselves,
    • Who may or may not be criminals,
    • Who may or may not be enemies of the US and its residents.
The wall and other border security measures, combined with enforcement of laws, policies, and standards can make sure that the only immigrants allowed in will actually benefit all of us.-

The same chumps who believed Iraq Oil would pay for the Iraq invasion, believe Mexico will eventually pay for Donnie's Wall paid for by U.S. taxpayers. The very same people go along with this new Trumpian fantasy....They never learn, do they?

Sorry but we no longer believe the establishment polls, since they were used to try to manufacture consent leading up to the election. Since the establishment wants illegal labor to work with the scheme of globalization to bottom out wages people have to live on, and since they are fighting trump on both open borders and free trade, and since the media and polling is a part of the corruption.... we no longer listen to them in their fight against our President Trump. Your boys went to the well, one two many times. So, that dog won't hunt and there is no way anyone would believe the American people do not want a wall to lessen illegal immigration and to help cut off the heroin traffic our CIA is probably involved in as they were with coke, in order to finance their shadow gov't operations on behalf of our robber baron class.

Learn to live with the wall, the crack down on illegals here, and the rule of law being observed again. And when trump finds a way to make mexico pay for it, even if its sneaky, remember you guys have been terribly wrong on everything for the last two years. Go ahead and holler UNCLE now and stop embarrassing yourselves. You guys are children among men, if you are ever in trump's company. Perhaps one day you will grow up and be a man too?

Trump haters have been wrong about trump for 2 years. Looks like it is gonna be 10 years before it is over with. The more you remain a naysayer, the harder it makes trump work to prove you are wrong. So keep it up. It will help us who want CHANGE, real change. The sanders and trump supporters demand change for they are tired of being screwed over by a few elites, and the dems and repubs who have allowed them to do it.

point is if the Chinese did it over 1000 years ago the UA can do it today. As far as mexico paying for it there are dozens of ways all of which have been pointed out numerous times. When Mexico relies on the US for over 80% of its exports it has no choice, add in a hefty tax on money wired back to Mexico and it is a piece of cake

Well sure we can do it, that's not in dispute.

As for Mexico if you don't do the deal first everything else is BS a smoke screen. If he were to do the deal first , I have no room for trash talk. But this way is a total lie. And another reason I don't trust politicians.

    Trump threatens Mexico's
    biggest cash source

Mexico's biggest cash cow is under threat from President Donald Trump. The country's largest source of cash comes from Mexicans living in the United States. . . .

Trump said during his campaign that not one penny would come out of taxpayers pockets; once again, another Trump lie, which further cements in my mind that Trump is a born liar. I find it hard to believe that Mexico doesn't have 8 billion dollars in their treasury. How disappointing.

Don't you know that the US gives Mexico hundred of $millions in foreign aid every year? So all that's necessary for them to pay for the wall is to take every penny of that foreign aid and apply it to the debt to pay for the wall. Of course since it's our tax money in any case we will be the ones paying for it but they won't get any more of our money. It would be fully paid off in 10 years or less.

Makes a big difference to me because there is no guarantee that we'll get our money from Mexico; how can we trust them to pay us? They've already gone on record as saying there is no way they are going to pay anything towards it (unless they changed their tune in the past 24 hours that I haven't heard about).

The US always gets hosed over when it comes to guarantees like this from countries where we receive no cooperation from them. We'd be better off planting minefields or having the National Guard simply guarding the border; at least it wasn't promised to us.
