Trump renews threat to end ' rediculous' birthright citizenship

I placed this in the political opinions and beliefs because I want to solicited opinions.
I for one believe that we need to change that law about who can be considered a natural born American. The current law says if you are born here you are automatically a natural born citizen.

I want the law to say that in order to be a natural born American you need to meet these criteria:
-1 At least one of your parents needs to be an American citizen
or
-2 both of your parents need to be legal immigrant residents in our country, e.g. Green card holders.

The new law needs to render any child born of temporary residents, visitors, foreign diplomatic staff, student visa holders, temporary workers of any kind unless you meet condition number one above to be at birth non citizens.

Anyone agree with me?

Yes a Constitutional amendment is needed that is whybInsaid we need to change the law.

 

#1,, it's not a Constitutional Right.. it's a misinterpretation of the 25th meant to insure the citizenship of freed slaves. #2. it cost my small town millions of dollars we don't have..
here's how it works, all the mother needs is a border crossers card, good in the border area only, she goes to the local welfare office and starts signing up for all she can get with the nice (liberal/socialist) worker there, then she shows up ready to pop at the border (medical cases can not be denied if they have the ol' border crossers card), our ambulance then takes her the 90 miles to the nearest hospital on our side of the border.. right thru the inland border station she wasn't able to get past before.. then she reaps the benefits of the ever so charitable US govt.. we (our town of a little over 5000 people) get stuck with the ambulance bill, and the US taxpayer gets stuck with the care and feeding of her children for … ever. Nevermind she could have gotten the whole thing with her own socialist govt.. but our govt. is richer and has nicer facilities and better benefits. I hope that it is stopped.. it's a huge rip off, and keeps our ambulance unavailable for ..US! WE spend over a million dollars a year on that ambulance service.. $200 a per every man, woman, and child here

 

I can understand your confusion .. after all the unconstitutional acts by Obama.. how could you know what Constitutional or not? (Believe me, Trump follows the Constitution closer than any demo ever did.. even if he wanted to violate it, the dems stop him.. the dem's activist judges even stop him on entirely Constitutional acts!

 

I am ok with the way it is now. If you are born on American soil, you have the right to American citizenship. It was written that way in 1776 and has worked fine since then. I am not buying into this crazy crap about Mexicans ruining our culture or invading us.

Hey I made a mistake in my OP. If we make it so that in order to be natural born citizen BOTH parents need to have been born here and make the law retroactive so that Trump whose mother was born in Scotland would render Trump a non citizen. How would that grab the Trump fans!

In order to remove birthright citizenship you would need an amendment repealing the 14th.

You can be a legal resident alien and work here and pay taxes and pay into social security but you do not have to be a citizen in order to work and live here you just are not allowed to vote.

No need to punish children for wrongdoings of their parents.
