    Trumps Plan of gaining power by creating hate and fear of a minority group sounds familiar. Of course in Trump's case it is illegal immigrants and people seeking political asylum.

    This strategy — one designed to single out a particular group of people, suggesting that there's something particularly sinister about how they behave — was employed to great effect by Adolf Hitler and his allies. In the 1930s, the Nazis used a similar tactic to stir up anger and hatred toward Jews. Professor Richard Weikart of California State University explained that Nazi leaders used different kinds of communication tools to sell the message that “Jews are criminal by disposition,” as a 1943 Nazi directive to the German press put it. “The Jews are not a nation like other nations but bearers of hereditary criminality,” the order said. Germany, in other words, was out of control, and only Nazi anti-Semitic policies could “restore order.”

    Nonsense. Himmler himself would be proud of your post.

    Throughout history right wing strongmen have always used the scapegoating of some ethnic or religious group to stir hatred among their followers. Trump is no different.

    The only people singling out a particular group of people are the Democrats who have been calling out Jewish people. You're right. We saw it before. My great grandmother, great grandfather, great uncle and great aunt died at the hands of people just like Omar and AOC and Democrat haters in general. It is disgusting to see that hatred being embraced by the Democratic Party. But, being the party of slavery and segregation, it's not surprising that hatred would show its face there.

    If you cotton to Martin Buber's "The I and the Thou," we are the thou and we are no longer passive to the power of the left, but actively resisting.

    And with nary an apology for resisting. We are the resistance.

    You appear to be confusing calling out the actions of Israel with attacking the Jewish people.

    And yes Trump has gone out of his way to demonize illegal immigrants and people seeking asylum.

    I'm not confusing anything. Those two are haters and they now lead the Democrats. I don't like being called anti-Semitic names by Representatives. Like I said. It's not surprising. FDR and Breckinridge Long cooked the asylum books so they could deny my grandfather's family the ability to escape Hitler. The Democrats turned away the MS St Louis dooming hundreds of Jewish people to death.

    There is a long history. No doubt, the Democrats were calling Republicans racists, fascists, misogynists, etc. back when Exalted Cleagle Robert Byrd led the party.

    Dictators have always employed Nationalism, patriotism, fear of external or internal forces, and anger at being victims of a repressive government to seize power. Hitler did it, Mussolini did it, Stalin did it, and now comes Trump. Trump's formula may be a trifle different, but not much.

    NATIONALISM = AMERICA FIRST
    PATRIOTISM = THE FLAG, THE BASE
    VICTIMHOOD = DEEP STATE
    EXTERNAL FORCES = ALIENS, MINORITIES
    INTERNAL FORCES = LIBERALS, SOCIALISTS, ANTIFA

    Lets see if you can provide any actual quotes by either of the two attacking Jewish people as a group or attacking the Jewish religion.

    Well lets see if you can actually provide the quote. The only ones I recall saying that was the Neo Nazi friends of Trump ( good people on both sides) marching in Charlottsville.

    Trump mocks those who are anti-American. It's a beautiful thing.

    How about for the simple fact that unless we enforce the borders, we have no borders.

    Like National Socialist Brownshirts? Strongmen like Hugo Chavez who famously told Obama, "You are left of me!" We all know how Obama targeted people who opposed him, mainly Caucasian Christians. He told you and other Democrats that you're supposed to hate Christians.

    Projection and and gaslighting are techniques common to Liberals. Having failed at everything they've tried, they have no choice.

    Sorry about the mix up. That was meant as a response to quote #1 above. My cut and paste bad.

    Well nice try but the Democrats haven’t been calling out the Jewish people. Israel is not the Jewish people. And it isn’t the Democrats it is one Democratic calling out Israel’s behaviour which is reprehensible.

    Of course we need to enforce the borders. No Democratic has advocated for open borders despite Trump’s lies.

    We're spending billions of bucks enforcing the borders. We just gave Trump another $2-3 billion. The Democratic House approved it. Doesn't sound like open borders to me. Does it? What am I missing here? And, when did all the "assault" on our borders start? All those caravans? Things were pretty quiet during Obama's presidency. Record low illegal border crossings, record high deportations.

    Now we have kids being ripped from their parents/guardians and scattered to the four winds. Now we have bulging detention centers we need to keep throwing taxpayers dollars at to keep barely functional. Now we riots and near riots at the border. Now we have people drowning with their kids trying to swim the river. So, what happened? I think we have a right to get some answers.

    All good reasons to try to better control the borders. By the ways, people have been trying to swim across that river for centuries. I doubt that this is the first time someone drowned trying to swim across it.
    Good idea. Try not to take two and a half years doing it.

    You don't have any answers? I'm so disappointed.
