What you mean to say is that if Sessions was less ethical Trump could have quashed this investigation.

I never thought of Sessions as ethical...and apparently just barely

    Who knew

That's an exaggeration. Clinton, Nixon, and Johnson (the first one after the Civil War) were all impeached, and our Constitution is still intact. The system worked, and there was no constitutional crisis. Why should it be any different today if Trump is impeached?

Assuming the troubles with the Trump presidency come to a head, it will probably happen after the mid-term elections, which are likely to produce a Democratic majority in the House. The House is in charge of initiating any action against the president (impeachment). If the Democrats impeach Trump, the Republicans' only hope will be to block conviction in the Senate.

Here is what Keith Whittington (political scientist) is reported as saying in the Atlantic

Whittington instead proposed thinking about constitutional crises as “circumstances in which the constitutional order itself is failing.” In his view, such a crisis could take two forms. There are “operational crises,” in which constitutional rules don’t tell us how to resolve a political dispute; and there are “crises of fidelity,” in which the rules do tell us what to do but aren’t being followed. The latter is probably closest to the common understanding of constitutional crisis—something along the lines of President Andrew Jackson’s famous (if apocryphal) rejoinder to the Supreme Court, “[Justice] John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it.” Or, to point to an example proposed recently by Whittington himself, such a crisis would result if congressional Republicans failed to hold Trump accountable for firing Mueller.

No, and when it comes out and there is nothing regarding what Muellar was assigned to investigate, people will see the firing was probably called for.

    Trump Will Fire Mueller

No, Trump will fire Sessions, and his replacement will fire Mueller. But that won't save him from his crimes.

The only notable crime that's been committed thus far, has been the utter fraud against this Republic. For the first time in the history of the US Government, its Congress openly seeks to discredit and/or remove its own President by any means necessary. And we, the people are apathetic to this fraud. Why? Because we're not shocked.

This is the state of our country and government, the President in 2020 will likely not have any more of a comfortable position even if he/she is more honorable than Trump.

Not when everything Muellar has done to this point is released and it contains nothing in reference to the collusion between the Trump administration and Russia.

When Tramp is exposed by Mueller and Stormy, you can say, "Oh, those crimes." Treason, collusion and lying under oath. It will happen this year, betcha.
