This is an interesting story. Biden says the US does not support Taiwan's independence. This has been a political potato that has been hot to the touch for a while now. Biden seems to be flip-flopping on this issue. He previously insinuated the US would protect Taiwan if China attempted to use force to deny their independence. Now he is saying we no longer support their independence.

Some of the Biden money laundered through a couple dozen shell companies came from Chinese government-backed entities. Joe Biden has said his family did not make any money from China. PolitiFact gave him four Pinnochios for that lie.

Ideology isn't everything, there is also the question of what we can practically do, and what we can afford to do.

We are at war in Ukraine, and not winning, we have committed to supplying bombs and ammunition to Israel,
and although we have enough for our own defense we no longer have enough for other people's wars.

We have to limit our utopian dreams to what can be physically done.

The USA will defend Taiwan with full force if China attacks/invades.

That would be a step towards Taiwan’s independence.

And get a few sunk carriers in the process, as well as an economic collapse.

Taiwan, officially known as The Republic of China, is none of our concern.

Because of that attitude, Hitler conquered Europe.

Imagine if we did not allow Hitler to take Sudetenland? Tens of millions of lives saved.

Given the CCP paid him roughly 24M in bribes, what do we expect him to say?

How is this different from how we've treated Taiwan since Taiwan was Taiwan? We support them in some ways, but don't publicly, officially acknowledge or support their independence. Hasn't that been how every president has treated them? Side note: if you visit Taiwan, try the "Texas style fried chicken" from the street markets. It isn't actually "Texas style." It is far superior.

Was that before or after he rode his unicorn around Narnia? Because we have just as much evidence that this happened as we do that your claim is true.

Most likely. But only if China attacks. Until then, we will remain mostly neutral.

Until 2019, a Chinese-controlled bank leased space in Trump Tower in a very sweetheart deal.

And not long after winning the 2016 election, Mr. Trump reported selling a penthouse in one of his Manhattan buildings for $15.8 million to a Chinese-American businesswoman named Xiao Yan Chen, who bought the unit, previously occupied by Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, in an off-market transaction. Ms. Chen runs an international consulting firm and reportedly has high-level connections to government and political elites in China.

Mr. Trump’s tax records show that he reported a capital gain of at least $5.6 million from the penthouse sale in 2017, his first year as president.

Imagine if the Treaty of Versailles would have been reasonable? WW2 wouldn't have ever happened and we wouldn't have the current bullshit in the Middle East.

Money paid in exchange for office space. And Chinese controlled CEFC paid for offices for Hunter, Joe and Jill.

So you suppose this depletion has been the end game of what is driving the many conflicts we are involved in?

Now that is a good question.

The main drivers of the US military machine are:
    1. The M.I.C. who make money out of every war, the longer the better, and a certain amount
just by frightening the public, so they also claim every country out there is waiting to attack us.
That has a short to mid term time frame.

    2. Congress makes money by knowing in advance shifts in govt spending so beats everyone
else in stock market trades. That is very short term.

    3. Israel is a big driver of US policy but the steady waste of money by fighting wars everywhere
has over the long term turned out to be to their disadvantage, so although they did get Iraq destroyed
and have received in past more 'aid' than anyone else, they aren't getting everything they want
    right now.

I understand some 155mm fragmentation shells the US had stored in Israel were shipped
to Ukraine for killing Russians, are therefore not available for killing Palestinians.

Make a case and get to the court counselor...... Good luck. Meanwhile, the CCP seems to have directly paid bribes to the sitting president. Did you think folks wouldn't notice?

India is just watching from the sidelines, they will be the next superpower as they will control all the IT, all the Artificial Intelligence...

Countries Outsourcing all their IT to India was a national security risk

That’s very smart of him. He should say whatever it takes to give China the idea they can attack or blockade Taiwan with little to no repercussions.

    absolutely brilliant tactical move

Maybe a lot of Americans think it OK to give China the impression they can attack or blockade Taiwan,
but I think Taiwan should also be allowed an opinion.

That would be a step toward mass death of Taiwanese just like in Ukraine.
