So the dumbocrats are mad because they are getting limited in their ability to use a racist policy to get over racism...

sounds about right for the hating, intolerant left.

Anytime race is a consideration for 'privilege', that is racism. It does not matter which race is involved, which race is being denied, or which race is being advanced. It is still racism. Even when racism is being used with good intent, it hampers the quest to rid society of ALL racism. As long as racism is still practiced...for good or for evil....that quest will remain difficult to accomplish.

Affirmative Action has no place in a society that supposedly wants to put racism behind it.

    wanna bet????????????

this will stay as it is.

States now have the right to ban affirmative action in hiring, business, and education.

Hahahahaha! Good luck with that, especially considering the nature of the OP's original title. Besides which more and more citizens ARE getting tired of all this unfair minorities preference garbage. So it's about time.

Just like "different" sets of requirements for women than men has no place when the goal is "equality".

You can't be selective and keep a straight face. There are no degrees of "equal", just as there are no degrees of "death"...you either are, or you aren't.

The very human condition all but guarantees we are not, and never will be "equal". Some are smarter than most, some are more intelligent than you, some are bigger and stronger, you can't change that (yet). Oh but there are some stereotypes that do illustrate some examples of this, but I shall not name them or risk verbal abuse by the left.

Somewhere along the way "equal opportunity" got turned into an "entitlement" mentality. Someone 'deserves" something simply because they exist and because someone else has something they don't (totally ignoring how long or how hard someone worked to get what they have). They are unwilling to accept that doing some things is actually harder for some people than for others and they don't like the idea that some might have to try or work harder to achieve similar goals...it's not 'fair" they claim. Complain to the genetics gods about that. It's just the way it is.

This mentality is very similar to offering a beggar actual food vs money and they don't want it (the reality is, they want the $$$ for other things...I have experienced this multiple times....offered to go buy them some food and they refuse, instead asking for money). The entitlement minded don't want you to point them the way of "opportunity" by helping them into school, or a career...they just want the free handout instead (a lot less effort that way). Somewhere, somehow, they don't, or won't comprehend "opportunity". It's been translated as "handout".

I am with the conservative court on this one... study harder if you want in to a good college, or get a sports scholarship... schools lower the standards if your good enough in sports or you parents have enough $$$ it seems

When being admitted to a public university such as the University of Michigan or the University of Texas or Texas A&M, race and grades is just one factor. For Texas, if you graduate in the top 10% of your class, you automatically get in the Texas University or Texas A&M system, but not automaticly in the home campuses in Austin or College Station.

Or in other words, these unviserities use grades as a determining factor, but more importantily will use legacy, essay content, and community service to differentiate who goes to Austin or College Station and who does not. And if legacy is used as the primary factor of who gets in, then minorities generally do not fare well in admission, even if they have the grades to get in.

Affirmative Action IS DISCRIMINATION.... Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be appalled at the very thought of putting skin color over merit.

This is wonderful news! Now, as an employer, I can freely discriminate against hiring gays to my heart's content! :winner:

Obama may rule with a pen for now, but he can stick that pen straight up his you-know-what. ;)

He can't overrule the USSC. Executive power is checked at the door when it comes to the USSC rulings. THAT is why they are there.

Your king has no power over the United States Supreme Court, they define the legality of the laws, Obama has to enforce it. End of story, now go back to school and get educated on how our system works
