Ukraine's national selection to the song contest Eurovision-2019 ended up with dramatic fail. The public broadcaster declared Ukraine withdraws from the contest. The situation has become the comical-political scandal - all winners turned out to be not politically trustworthy enough. First, the ANNA MARIA band was bullied by TV hosts and got very low points from the professional jury and from TV viewers. Then the next trouble has come: And finally: What a pity. Pro-Russian traitors and separatists are all around.
To me this smacks of desperation...perhaps Ukraine feels ignored, with America focussed on Venezuela and North Korea

Seriously? What a load of bullshit. Musicians don't want to get involved in the political war between Russia and the Ukraine and you call them traitors? The Ukrainian government was WAY the **** out of line trying to make those musicians sign anything to participate in a music competition. No musician has to sign anything to represent the United States, the UK, France, Germany, or most other Western nations. No one expects an American musician to even be mildly pro-American. Where the **** does Ukraine get off expecting Ukrainian musicians to involve themselves in the Crimean debate? That's not their business, their business is making music. What the **** does Ukraine have to do with musicians, anyway, that musicians have to get the government's PERMISSION to compete in a song contest? Ukraine has done nothing but shoot themselves in the foot with this public debacle.

It's a nice band, and the video is artistically done regardless of the perversions and sexual innuendos, but I think it's time we got back to civilization and buried Eurovision. Enough is enough! Anyway, thank you for the details and why the contestants refused to enter the contest. If the on going genocide of the Donbas inhabitants and the destruction of infrastructure weren't so tragic, the travesty in Kiev would make a great comedy. Which reminds me, one of the candidates for President of Ukraine is a comedian. His support from what I read, comes from Poroshenko's arch mafia rival: Ihor Kolomoisky. The same one who is wanted by Moscow for using white phosphorus on the inhabitants of Slaviansk, as well as being behind the burning and hacking of protesters in Odessa and the shooting down of the Malaysian air liner.
A really good question ... Since I've never been interested in all this nonsense Eurovision, I can only guess that either someone at school on the topic of geography and continents was not paying attention ... or that there again some broadcasters cuddle with each other here and it does not matter.
