You're just being arrogant; you know a lot less than you imagine.

Requoted again, as it is possible that little Johnny-C keeps flapping his gums in a desperate attempt to bury this irrefutable repudiation of leftist views.

Nothing arrogant about pointing out a Judas. I am a Christian, Johnny-C. A real one. I will defend my right to freely express my religious beliefs, and am a Soldier dedicated to fighting all enemies, foreign and domestic. Including wolves in sheep's clothing.

    You fail, Johnny-C.

There have been frivolous court cases brought up for some time now...

Doesn't validate it, or make it a big deal...

I'm just a human being; one who believes in Jesus.

Other than that, you can think what you want (whether I "fail" or not).

BTW: It would be better for ALL, if the "Pledge" were restored to its pre-1954 wording.

Bump to the new page, where it will remain until some brave leftist smashes his bug-like head against the windshield.

I now invite electron to attempt a refutation.

It really isn't relevant to all the reasons people are protesting the Pledge today.

What a stupid claim. You and yours attempted to use Thomas Jefferson's out-of-context quote to support justification to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, and now the exposure of Thomas Jefferson's own intent and actions on the exact same topic are no longer meaningful?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Even though I do believe in God myself, doesn't mean everyone else does. I am good friends with atheists. So the vote for "Yes" was from me AND them.

    I have to disagree here.

We live in a Republic for a reason. We are not a Democracy by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, we have become more and more LIKE a Democracy, but that is not a good thing.

Yes, we use Democratic principles to administer our Republic but a Republic values the Rights of the individual over the want of the masses.

And we need to get back to that Republic principle and stop this march towards Democracy.

    One nation under god.

That is an establishment of religion, it excludes all non-theists, deist,s polytheists, polydeists, pantheists, secularists, etc.

Exactly! I also have friends who are atheists; and I know it's not fair to them and their kids, to have religion imposed upon them as the "Pledge" surely does.

Actually it does no such thing.

It simply aknowledges a Maker and nothing more.

And, as many have so rightly pointed out, you are free to not say it.

It doesn't impose anything. They are free to not say it, if they like.

It simply aknowledges a Maker, which is something our Forefathers did when they made this Country. I see it as more of a way of aknowledging the intent of our Forefathers and nothing more.

Should we take out the reference to God in the Declaration of Independence, simply because it may offend some?

well no one does anything about that national debt that is imposed upon them and a debt imposed upon a baby when they are born is slavery.

It does not exclude any of the above until you have defined the term "god."

I think many of those listed would disagree with you.

Even so, the problem could be resolved by returning to the following wording:

There's nothing wrong with that language.

I have friends who believe in God and its not fair to them to have atheism and secular humanism forced upon them as is SOP for government today.

It is well known, or at least I think it is well know that atheism and secular humanism are both religions as confirmed by the supreme court.
